Milestones Works to Bridge Service Divides in the Hispanic Community
On February 22, Milestones' Spanish Helpdesk Coordinator, Michelle Mejia, presented to a packed room about Milestones services, the hispanic population with autism in Ohio, and service gaps within the community. This is a crucial first step in the effort to bridge service divides and increase autism awareness and vital support in the hispanic community.

Milestones at the Governor's Mansion
As part of Governor and First Lady DeWine's celebration of Black History Month, Milestones Director of Development, Vanetta Perry, presented to First Lady Fran DeWine a book by autistic author and parent, Tiffany Hammond.
"A Day with No Words" is a powerful storybook that invites readers into the life of a family with an autistic child who communicates without spoken language. This book carries the hearts of loved ones and those who stand by non-speakers.

Milestones Conducts Crisis Intervention Training
Milestones Vice President of Education & Services, Eira Yates, and Director of Education, Bradley Wyner, met with two dozen community partners in February to explore the unique needs of autistic individuals and share evidence based strategies for crisis intervention.
Those in attendance included workers from the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, area librarians, and people from various social safety net agencies.
