We had a WINTERFUL time with you at our first ever Winter on the Green!

Our community really showed out and we are SNOW grateful!

Shout out to all of our friends from the North Pole who visited to make the night extra special.

Our Board of Supervisors recognized the founders of Hanover County Municipal Airport with a special plaque that will hang in the new eastside terminal.

It is dedicated to Frank Hargrove, Sr., Troy Leadbetter and Ray Tyson who founded the airport in 1969.

We are in the process of updating our website, but we need your help!

To help us understand what residents would like to see on our new site, please consider taking a five-question survey about your experience on our current site.

Beginning Jan. 29, 2024, the application deadline for rezonings, conditional use permits, special exceptions and other types of requests that require a public hearing will be moved to the last Monday of each month. 

Currently, the application deadline for those types of requests is the first Monday of each month.

The change is intended to allow additional time for processing, routing and review by agencies — accommodating a more thorough review earlier in the process.

There will be a citizen information meeting on the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Creighton Road/Creighton Parkway/Walnut Grove Road on Monday, Dec. 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Battlefield Park Elementary School.

The meeting will begin with a design presentation followed by a Q&A.

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors will hold a Legislative Breakfast on Monday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 a.m. at Hanover County Municipal Airport.

County leaders will discuss the 2024 legislative agenda.

The meeting is open to the public with citizens' time available.

Leah D. Han of our County Attorney's Office has been named Vice Chair of Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys' Local Government Section for 2023-24!

Congratulations, Leah! Team Hanover is lucky to have you.

Hanover County is collecting items to donate to residents in need this winter.

Decorate our warming trees by hanging mittens, hats, socks and gloves so we can help all of our families stay cozy.

Trees can be found in the following County buildings:

• Administration, 7516 County Complex Road
• Chenault-Weems, 7507 Library Drive
• Martha Ann Fields, 7515 Library Drive
• Community Resources, 12310 Washington Highway
• Community Services Board, 12300 Washington Highway

All items will be donated to Ashland Christian Emergency Services (ACES). We will be collecting donations through Thursday, Dec. 28.

The Board will consider canceling the Dec. 20 meeting on Dec. 13.
