Eighth Sunday after Pentecost - July 14, 2024

Sharing our Sunday Space

with Centerpointe Church

Just up the road from Epiphany, Centerpointe Church is in the middle of doing what we were doing in 2017-18; building-out a facility.  As was true for us back then, they have found the remodeling process to move more slowly than they hoped.

That has left Centerpointe Church without a place to gather for worship this summer.  Grateful for all the ways God blessed us and gave us our current space, Epiphany is stepping into the gap to provide a worship location for Centerpointe at least for the next several months.

With the approval of the vestry and our landlord, our wardens Jon Crane and Don Holt are working out final details of the agreement now.  Centerpointe Church will be worshipping at Epiphany on Sunday afternoons between 3 and 5:30pm.  They are paying a small honorarium to make sure we can cover the expenses related to their use of our building.  We will always have someone from Epiphany here when Centerpointe is using our facility.

While having another church worship at Epiphany does come with some challenges, I am very glad we can be part of Centerpointe Church’s journey to their new home.  It is exciting for me to see us at Epiphany have a chance to connect with a neighboring Christian congregation.  I am hopeful that we will have chances to work together with Centerpointe in other ways in the name of Jesus Christ.

God Bless,

P.S. We now have a "Save the Date" calendar of upcoming events at Epiphany available here as a pdf or on paper at the church for you to pick up on Sunday. Put it on your fridge!

Supernatural Strength in Weakness?

We did it!! Headphones for Cub Run

Thanks for your generosity – we did it!  With your help, we were able to meet our commitment of 50 over-the-ear headphones for Cub Run Elementary School.  We will work with WFCM and get these delivered in time for the new school year! Thanks again!!

Next Meet and Eat is July 31

Epiphany's "Meet and Eat" meals in the summer are a great way to meet the people you go to church with. Our next meal will be on Wednesday, July 31. Sign-up in the fellowship hall at church beginning this Sunday.

Are You Ready for Some Baseball Aug. 31?

Baseball field

Every year, the Washington Nationals organization holds Faith Day. After the game, some of the Nationals players and staff give their testimonies, encouraging us that God has placed people everywhere (even on baseball teams!) to be His witnesses.

This year, Faith Day is on Saturday, August 31, at 4:05 pm, Nats versus Cubs. Who wants to go? I see those hands waving.

In order to gauge interest and possibly get group ticket pricing, please use the following link. The maximum ticket price will be $31 per person. Now go turn two and sign up! And bring your friends who need to know that Christians like hot dogs and baseball, too!
