Every two years, the California Democratic Party holds ADEM elections for delegates to the state Democratic Convention in every Assembly District across the state. These delegates play a crucial role in the election process by voting on behalf of all registered Democrats for important Party policies and procedures and on which candidates get the endorsement of the Democratic Party.

Our local delegation is one reason I got the Party endorsement when I first ran for this office in 2010. And with 2016 being such a big election year, these delegates will play a huge role in determining which candidates receive the Democratic Party endorsement for Congress, State Senate, and State Assembly.

Now is your chance to have a say in who makes up our local delegation to the California Democratic Party conventions for the next two years. The ADEM elections for this term will take place this Saturday, January 10th from 12-2pm at UCSB. See below for more information and for details on the candidates I've endorsed to serve as delegates.

I hope you'll be able to come out and help us elect a balanced delegation that represents the base of the Party.

Thank you for your continued support,

Das

Important Info about the ADEM Election

• Voters must be registered Democrats in the 37th Assembly District and registered as such by October 20, 2014.
• Voters will be asked for a voluntary $5 donation to the California Democratic Party to help offset the costs of these elections across the state.
• Voters need to be registered by 2pm to vote. Registration opens at 12pm and any voter can vote as soon as they are registered - so you can come at 12pm, vote, and then leave. But you must be registered by the time the meeting begins at 2pm. Each candidate will get one minute to speak.
• The meeting is at UC Santa Barbara in the Girvetz Building, room 1004. This is a large lecture hall located on campus next to the Arbor store and across from Davidson Library.
