EARLY CHILDHOOD
PARENTING CENTER

Dear ECPC Friends,
There are only two more weeks until the end of the year and we urgently need your support in order for ECPC to continue the work of helping families with young children living in homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and low-income housing. Research shows that early intervention can break the cycles of poverty, violence, addiction and dysfunction. You can make a difference in their lives right now. Meet Amber...

Amber grew up in foster care, passed around from family to family, rarely in one place for more than a year. At age 18, Amber became pregnant. Now part of her already uncertain future is the daunting reality of raising a child without family, role models, or any experience of what it takes to be a good parent. Fortunately, Amber has been attending ECPC parenting groups and seeing an ECPC mental health counselor. She has learned about her baby's development, gained insights about herself, and learned how to better nurture and care for her baby.

Most important, she has learned that her child can have a very different experience growing up than she had.

ECPC is without a doubt above and beyond any other early childhood education organization I've worked with. ECPC validates and normalizes different family practices and is clinically on point and vigilant in connecting high need families to additional services. We are very excited to expand this partnership in other Community Corporation Affordable Housing Projects.

This holiday season, we invite you help others like Amber break the cycle of poverty, violence and dysfunction. You can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable families living in low-income housing and homeless shelters in Los Angeles. You can make on-site counseling, education, and developmental assistance available - all backed by ECPC's extensive experience - at no charge to Amber and the many others like her.

The need is great and your support is vital! It takes $12,000 to secure ECPC parenting expertise and support for up to 12 families for a year. Just $1,000 provides one family with weekly parenting groups and individual counseling for one year. Research shows that this kind of early intervention provides the greatest benefit for the lowest possible cost. Your gift of any amount will make all the difference to struggling parents and their young children.
