Letter from our Director

Greetings, from Erin! This quarter is one of the biggest ever here at Safe Harbor of Erin. With a little luck and continued blessings from God will be opening our new Industrial kitchen/Dining Hall/Chapel area! This has been a long time goal of mine and the ministries. To see this finally happen is amazing.

I would also like to personally thank the whole town of Erin. Over this last year everyone has been amazing and rallied together backing us both spiritually and financially. Its a true blessing to be apart of such an amazing community.

I would like to send out a special thanks to all of our Golf Tournament sponsors who have generously donated to our ministry: Rye Engineering, McGlashings Piggly Wiggly, Traditions Bank, The County Mayors Office in conjunction with the County Commissions Office and the Tennessee Opioid Fund, The Erin Rotary Club, Country Outfitters, Jones Plastics, Waverly Tire, and ABS Construction.

Thank you!

Paul Garner

Celebrating Success

As always, one of our favorite things is celebrating the graduation and achievements of clients here in Erin. It takes a lot of effort and perseverance to reach a goal, and it's important to take time to acknowledge and appreciate that hard work. We want to show these men that their hard work and dedication is noticed and appreciated.

We hope it always helps to motivate and inspire them to continue putting forth that same effort to be successful long after Safe Harbor. We are excited to see them going home being the men that God intended them to be!

What is purpose?

Purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

A thriving community is built upon a foundation of support, collaboration, and shared values. When community members come together with a common purpose and a sense of belonging, they can accomplish incredible feats. Strong communities provide a network of resources, encouragement, and opportunities for growth and development for all its members.

Easter in Erin!

A big shout out and extra special THANK YOU to Mrs Emily and the Taco Bell staff @ 1670 Fort Campbell Blvd, Clarksville, TN 37042. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

During the 1st Quarter 20 men were baptized in Erin. What an honor it is to watch as these men are raised to a new life in Christ.

Client of the Quarter

"I would like to start my testimony off by giving thanks to God for a second chance at life, my sobriety, all that has been provided and that is still to come. I am one of the lucky ones to be able to overcome the grips of addiction. Only through our Savior Jesus Christ was I able to make it through the valley. My journey started at a young age. I have a brother that is 2 years younger, our parents split up when I was about four years old. That’s when my mother remarried to my first stepfather who was dealing with a severe addiction to alcohol and over time became very abusive to my mother, brother, and myself. Growing up holding resentments from a young age. Going through middle & high school years I was very active in all school activities, was on the honor roll, while racing Motorcross. Around my sophomore year I had a pretty bad wreck breaking several bones. That’s when I was first introduced to prescription pain medicine. Having had multiple surgeries and being continuously prescribed medication after a few months it felt as if I couldn’t function without having pain medicine. Going back to school I began hanging with the wrong crowd thus putting myself in situations that I made bad decisions, started experiencing with recreational drug use off and on through out high school because I thought it made me cooler to have more friends. After graduating high school I continued using drugs on and off for about 5 years before I met the mother of my children whose parents turned out to be drug dealers, unknown entering into a relationship with someone our relationship solely dependent on our drug use together. After experiencing with fentanyl for a way to escape that co-dependent addiction based relationship going through this cycle for about 10 years too long. After losing everything including my kids, family, and everything I owned, I felt like giving up completely that’s when I fell to my knees praying to God, please God do what you must with me I am done living this way of life. And does God have a way of opening your eyes. I went to a 28-day program with the intent on staying sober, I graduated, moved back home with my family and stayed sober for about 90 days when I let my guard down and thought it was okay to be able to start going around the same people, but as soon as I did before I could even blink I was saying to myself just one more time wouldn’t hurt . Oh was I mistaken, I had gotten back into the grips again. One day I was going to get a pill knowing it was a counterfeit pill, I had been doing for years so I took half of it and started to drive back home, running low on gas fumes bc I was spending every cent on my addiction. Now this is how God steps in to save a person. I was approaching a stop light when the vehicle I was driving started to spit and sputter, so I put it in reverse to pull into a parking lot that just happened to be a church named Calvary Baptist. After trying to call my family to see if I could possibly get some help with gas boom that was the last thing I remember, I had unknowingly overdosed with no warning at all. By the grace of God the firefighters and ems were able to Narcan me back. I pray I never have to see the look on my family’s faces again waking up to them balling hysterically! So I got arrested on a DUI, went to jail again. At this point I am beyond fed up with this way of life, thinking this is no way to live at all! When I went before the judge I asked him if I could go to a faith-based long term rehab to get closer with my walk with God and find myself. I had been lost for so long I really didn’t even remember who I was. After making it to Safe Harbor I was working the program as best as anyone possible could. I was growing closer in my relationship with God ! My pastor always was saying the closer you walk with God the stronger the devil comes for you. He came for me and almost won but luckily Mr. Paul and the rest of the staff was there to help me fight him off. They seen something in me that I didn't see. Today I am clean, on the verge of graduation, and have a staff position available to upon graduation." - D.S.

Staff of the Quarter

It is with great pleasure that I announce Mr. Christopher Wiseman as Erin's Staff of the Quarter.

Mr. Wiseman started with us in August of last year in our maintenance department. Recently he was moved to our Program office where he has proven himself.

He is the first to step in, with enthusiasm and a friendly smile, when we need help. Thank you for your service and I hope there are many more years to come.
