Good Monday Afternoon!
I hope you had a fantastic weekend despite the cold weather. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the freeze didn't harm our fruit trees this year. It seems like a common occurrence where the trees blossom during warm weather, and then we experience a sudden drop in temperature. I can only imagine how challenging it is for farmers to deal with these situations, but they surely know how to handle it.
Easter is almost here, and it's a time to indulge in delicious traditions. One of our family's Easter traditions is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. However, we have a bit of a divide in our family when it comes to adding walnuts - half of us love them, while the other half doesn't. To keep everyone happy, I've come up with a solution: I bake the cake with walnuts on one side and without on the other. Then, I simply sprinkle some nuts on top of the side that has them. This way, everyone gets to enjoy this classic dessert. I have attached my recipe if you'd like to try it. Just click on the picture of the carrot cake above.
I will email all Shepherd's Center members on Friday to ask if you would like a printed directory. I would like to have them printed by the second week in April. If you have not paid your membership dues when I send the directory to print, I cannot include you in the printed directory, but you will be included in the online directory.
