ALBANY, New York, Friday, January 25, 2022: New York Rush is delighted to welcome Helen L. Nkwocha to Albany Rush as Premier Director. Nkwocha brings a wealth of player development experience to the Capital Region.
"I am delighted to get someone with Helen's experience to lead our club in Albany, said NY Rush General Manager Brian Gordon. "Helen has coached at the highest levels in multiple countries, and we are ecstatic to have a UEFA A License coach on staff. Helen will greatly impact all of our youth teams and our USL2 and UWS semi-professional teams."
Coach Nkwocha joins Albany Rush from Thróttur Reykjavík, where she worked with the Women's Academy and Women's Second Team. Before her time in Iceland, Nkwocha was the first female to manage a Men's team at the highest domestic level when she took charge of TB Football Club in the Faroe Islands. Alongside Nkwocha's professional experience, the UEFA A Licensed coach has held multiple roles with youth organizations, including professional academies in the UK and USA.

I am a former player, I love the game, and I believe we have a forward-thinking, holistic approach to the soccer experience here at Albany Rush."
