Heat Advisory June 14-15
From today until tomorrow, Chicago is under a heat advisory, with peak heat index values of over 105 degrees. Temperatures will be in the upper 90s, so please keep yourselves safe and support neighbors who need it. If you or others need any assistance, reach out to our office.

During extreme heat, it is essential to take precautions to keep yourself safe and healthy, including:

  • Stay hydrated
  • Avoid going outside
  • Keep electric lights turned off or turned down
  • Minimize use of your oven or stove
  • Wear loose, light cotton clothing
  • Don't leave people or pets in a closed car, even if only for a few minutes
  • Check on friends, family, and neighbors
If you are able, please check on your neighbors and older adults you know may need support. You can also request wellbeing checks at 3-1-1 if you are unable to reach someone.

The City of Chicago is operating a number of designated cooling centers, indulging one located at 845 W Wilson Avenue near the 14th District. For a map of all cooling centers, click here.
The Broadway Armory and Margate Park are also open today for neighbors to use as cooling centers.
