Dear Friends of the Heart Gallery, 

I am thrilled to share with you some recent updates from our organization that have filled our hearts with gratitude and excitement. ❤️

Our annual TruHearts event presented by Moss Foundation, held to celebrate and honor the remarkable contributions of Sandra Retford to both our organization and the Broward community, was a heartwarming success. Together, we raised over $34,000 — a testament to our community's unwavering support and generosity towards our mission of finding forever for youth in foster care. TruHearts was made extra special this year by receiving news in person about successfully winning an award with the Community Foundation of Broward. This funding allows us to start a new pilot program centered around supporting adoptees and adoptive families along their life journey. Through becoming a centralized resource center, we will work collaboratively with agencies throughout Broward to ensure forever, is truly forever for these families.

As we reach our mid-year mark, we are reminded that every day presents an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of these incredible youth. We are grateful for each and every one of you who continue to support our mission; thank you for helping us in our pursuit to find forever homes for these deserving foster youth.

Additionally, we are excited to share that we have established a new partnership with FPL, who has generously become a new funder to our organization. Their support and funding have enabled us to begin a new program in the community, focused on supporting our Heart Gallery teens as they navigate their life ahead.

Finally, we are thrilled to showcase our renewed partnerships with Galleria Fort Lauderdale and the Children's Opportunity Group of Broward County. The Galleria has donated $12,500 to the Heart Gallery of Broward as part of their Fort Lauderdale Airshow parking fee fundraiser. Our partnership with COG in supporting our annual Back To School shopping spree, with a $10,000 grant, will continue to transform our foster youth's confidence and sense of dignity while in care.

We are immensely grateful for the continued support and dedication of our community, partners, volunteers, and donors in helping us achieve our goals, and make a lasting difference in the lives of youth in foster care. Together, we are creating brighter futures.

Gallery Partner Spotlight ✨ Galleria Fort Lauderdale

Thank you, Galleria Fort Lauderdale for your incredible partnership and for providing us with a beautiful space for our latest gallery! The gallery allows us to raise awareness of our mission and advocate for the youth in foster care.

Next time you are at the Galleria Fort Lauderdale check out the exhibit on the first floor outside Aldo before the escalators up to Dillards or down to the food court!

New Funding from the Community Foundation of Broward

We are thrilled to announce that the Community Foundation of Broward has given us the funding we need to pilot our new WE CARE Program!

Our WE CARE program allows us to Welcome and Engage adoptive families by Communicating openly, providing Access to care, Raising mental health awareness, and Educating through training and resources.

The WE CARE program is aimed at providing crucial resources to adoptive families, both pre- and post-adoption. This mental health-focused initiative will work collaboratively with community partners such as ChildNet, 4Kids, KID Inc, JAFCO, and more who are equally enthusiastic about the positive impact this program will have on their youth and families.

Welcome FPL, our New Donor Partner!

We are thrilled to announce Florida Power & Light (FPL) as our new funding partner!

Thanks to their support, we are launching a new program for our foster teens. This funding allows us to create a youth-led peer-to-peer group in partnership with the FLITE Center, where our teens will come together to support and learn from each other. This group will be facilitated by two young adults who were previously represented by the Heart Gallery. One adult was adopted, and the other aged out, so their lived experience can help guide our teens on their journey through their next stage in life.

Once again the Galleria Fort Lauderdale and their incredible team selected the Heart Gallery of Broward as one of their beneficiaries of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show parking. Their staff, combined with Heart Gallery volunteers and team, came together to raise $25,000 that was split between us and Julians Fountain of Youth, which was the beneficiary for day two.

The $12,500 donated to support Heart Gallery of Broward programs will help us continue to find forever homes for our foster youth. Your continued support uplifts many foster children, adoptees, and their families for generations to come!

Thank you to Children's Opportunity Group!

The Children's Opportunity Group of Broward has made a monumental impact on the lives of Broward's youth. This dedicated group of ladies has produced ripples of change throughout their 75 years here in Broward. This year they raised a record-breaking number of close to $200,000 to support and enrich the health, education, and welfare of children in Broward County.

The Heart Gallery of Broward is honored to once again receive a generous grant of $10,000 from COG, which will support our back-to-school shopping spree this August. COG not only supports this event with their grant, but also volunteers as personal shoppers; by purchasing new clothes, shoes, and accessories for the children, COG ensures each student begins their school year with a confident start.
