Healthcare and education support are making an impact in Gaza and the West Bank
Since October 2023, the ongoing conflict in the Holy Land has led to a significant humanitarian crisis. PWRDF has responded with emergency funding, supporting healthcare and education initiatives in Gaza and the West Bank. Read more about PWRDF's partnership with the Diocese of Jerusalem, and how together, we're making a difference in the lives of those affected, like Ahmed, Yaser, and twins Mustafa and Malak.

Two new partnerships reflect International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples
In recognition of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and resilience of Indigenous communities worldwide. This day is also a call to action, urging us to address the ongoing social, economic, and political challenges faced by Indigenous peoples. PWRDF proudly supports initiatives like the CISAHW project in Ecuador, which strengthens Indigenous midwifery, and ASAS do Cerrado in Brazil, which combats environmental racism in the Amazon. These partnerships embody our commitment to upholding Indigenous rights and fostering sustainable, community-led development.

Planting seeds of change at Tanzania’s Nyarugusu Refugee Camp
In Tanzania's Nyarugusu Refugee Camp, a sustainable harvest project, supported by PWRDF and implemented by Church World Service, is transforming lives. Through training in sustainable vegetable farming, refugees like Asumani Ibocwa and his wife, Nadia Faida, have not only improved their family's nutrition and income but also emerged as community leaders. The project promotes gender equality, environmental sustainability and self-reliance, with lasting impacts on the entire refugee community.

Grant announced to support Jasper evacuees in Edmonton
PWRDF is supporting the Diocese of Edmonton with a solidarity grant of $5,000 in response to the devastating wildfires in Jasper on July 25, 2025, which destroyed many homes and businesses, including St. Mary and St. George Anglican Church. The grant will help fund the work of the Jasper Community Team Society, which is currently supporting displaced individuals, primarily young temporary foreign workers, at All Saints’ Cathedral in Edmonton. The Cathedral, along with other local agencies, is providing space and resources to assist those affected.

The Wild Ride honours 65 years of supporting refugees and displaced people
In 2024 alone, over 100 million people will be displaced or stateless. They will be forced to flee their homes, jobs and families, leaving behind everything they've ever known. Refugees often embark on dangerous journeys in pursuit of safety. But with your help, we can make a difference.
Register to participate in the Wild Ride today!
Together, we can make a world of difference!

Through the Anglican Communion and the ACT Alliance, PWRDF engages in the international, ecumenical Season of Creation from September 1 to October 4. In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he compares the Earth to a Mother groaning as in childbirth (Romans 8:22). Francis of Assisi understood this when he referred to the Earth as our sister and our mother in his Canticle of Creatures. The times we live in show that we are not relating to the Earth as a gift from our Creator, but rather as a resource to be used. And yet, there is hope and the expectation for a better future.
