Announcing 2022 HCEG Top 10 – Focusing on Priorities
Over the past two years, the pandemic has exposed gaps and flaws in the healthcare delivery system and emphasized the case for change across nearly all aspects of healthcare - with has impacted the priorities healthcare executives are focusing on in 2022 and beyond. Unsurprisingly, the newly released 2022 HCEG Top 10 reflects a mix of historical core priorities, the fleshing out of some priorities identified shortly after the pandemic began in early 2020, and the evolution of healthcare priorities making their business impact clear and superseding past challenges, issues, and opportunities.
The 2022 HCEG Top 10 - developed using the input of 134 members of the HCEG Network and a review of almost 600 items culled from 80+ lists of healthcare predictions for 2022 – has been finalized. The priorities identified on this list are being used to develop information sharing, presentation opportunities with sponsors and partner organizations, and as the foundation for the 11th Annual Industry Pulse research effort.

The Industry Pulse – Diving Into 2022 HCEG Top 10
The Industry Pulse research provides a more in-depth analysis into the sentiments of healthcare leaders – primarily leaders of health plans, health systems, and care provider organizations – on specific focus areas of the 2022 HCEG Top 10.
Over the past 10 years, the Industry Pulse has been created and presented in partnership with long-time HCEG sponsor Change Healthcare. For this year’s 11th Annual Industry Pulse, HCEG is partnering with WEDI: the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange to create, administer, and present the Industry Pulse. Development kicked off last week with professionals from both HCEG and WEDI beginning to identify specific topics and create supporting content.
The Industry Pulse survey is expected to be available to all healthcare professionals by the end of February with data collection, insight analysis, and presentation taking place in March.

HCEG's Return to In-Person Conference Events
HCEG is currently developing both virtual and in-person presentation and networking opportunities. We’re recruiting organizations and HCEG members to participate in Focus Area Roundtables – small group discussions that take a deeper dive into the specific value-creating technologies, initiatives, programs, operational approaches, tactics, and detailed ideas supporting individual HCEG Top 10 focus areas.
Additionally, after two years of operating in an all-virtual environment, HCEG is looking forward to in-person participation at The Healthcare Innovation Congress on May 22-26, 2022 at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor, MD. We’re partnering with the ThINc360 organization to bring HCEG content and thought leaders to this new multi-stakeholder meeting.
HCEG is also discussing in-person presentation partnership opportunities with other organizations and may host an Annual Forum in late Q3 or Q4. Information on all HCEG events will be shared in future newsletters and via social channels.
