Start of School Webinar: Sakai Essentials for Faculty

If you are new or returning to teach this fall, please join us for Sakai Essentials for Faculty on August 2nd at 2:00pm CT. This live webinar will cover Sakai native teaching and learning tools, such as Calendar, Lessons, Assignments, Tests & Quizzes, Rubrics, Gradebook, and more. It will also quickly introduce Sakai integrated tools like Zoom, Panopto, and VoiceThread. A panel of moderators will be available to ask questions throughout the session.

Changes to Loyola’s Qualtrics Subscription for 2023-24

In July 2023, Loyola’s Qualtrics subscription will move from legacy CoreXM to CoreXM Advanced University-Wide. Features currently available (e.g., Advanced Question Types, Offline App) will remain and additional functionality added. If you have questions, please contact us at itsservicedesk@luc.edu.

New features include:

• Basic Stats IQ (under the Data and Analysis tab)
• SMS Distributions (under the Distributions tab)

With Basic Stats IQ, you can manage and analyze data using the following procedures:

• Frequency tables with counts and percentages
• Data visualizations (e.g., histograms)
• Reordering the display of categories
• Recoding text to numeric values
• Relational analyses including ANOVA, t-tests, correlations (Pearson’s r and Spearman’s rho), and contingency tables (chi-squared test and Fisher’s exact test statistics available)
• Regression analysis (linear and logistic)

SMS Distributions provides you with the ability to distribute surveys in two ways:

• As “2-way” interactive surveys where respondents text their replies to each question; or
• As a link to a survey sent to a respondent’s phone that can be opened in a mobile browser

Learning Analytics at Loyola

Join our upcoming programming for learning analytics. On Thursday, July 13th at 12:00pm CT we will be hosting a book club style discussion on research and scholarship. A selected reading will be provided to you in advance. We will also be offering special topics sessions for Zoom Analytics on Thursday, July 27th at 10:00am CT, and for Panopto Analytics on Thursday, August 3rd at 1:00pm CT.
