To our Evansville Day School family parents,

The school year is off to a great start and our search professionals, Mike Murphy and Sam Richards, will be visiting Evansville Day School as part of our Head of School search process. They are scheduled to come on site Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd. The purpose of their visit is to learn as much as possible about our community as well as identify the opportunities and key areas of focus for our new Head of School and the qualities sought in this individual.

In support of our mission of being in partnership with parents, we have scheduled two opportunities for you as parents to meet with Mike and Sam. Parent forums will be held at EDS on Monday, October 2nd from 8-8:30 a.m. and Tuesday, October 3rd from 8-8:30 a.m. in the Alumni Room.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear your thoughts on what we seek in our next leader, and answer any questions you may have regarding the search. In preparation for the meeting, we ask that you give some thought to the following questions:

• What is the culture of our school? What makes EDS a special community?
• What are the perceived challenges and opportunities for the next Head of School?
• Where do we, as a school, want to focus our program for the next 5+ years?
• What experience/leadership styles/personality traits will best meet those needs within our culture?

In addition to the in-person meetings, we are providing an additional opportunity for your input through an online survey. The survey can be accessed at the following link and must be completed by Tuesday, October 3 at 6:00 p.m.: EDS Head of School Search Survey

The information gathered during the upcoming site visit meetings and search survey will provide Mike and Sam, along with the EDS search committee, key insights as we develop a position profile which will be used to recruit our next Head of School. The position profile will be shared with the school community, through the Head of School Search link on the EDS website.
