Dear Prince Families:
The American Independence we enjoy today was conceived by a revolution ignited by patriots in 1776. Even at 247 years of age, our country demonstrates a creative spirit and an infectious hope that draws people from all nations to our shores.
The wisdom of our founding fathers to embed a “trias politica” doctrine in our U.S. Constitution with its three branches of government (executive, legislative, and judicial) and system of checks and balances ensures no one branch becomes too powerful. Our forefathers knew our battle to maintain a free society with privileges like the First Amendment would come at significant cost and sacrifice, even as we age and mature as a nation, and we can see the veracity of this ongoing struggle today.
During this Fourth of July, let us remind ourselves how blessed we are to be Americans with the constitutionally protected right to go to a church and a school where we are free to worship Jesus and practice our Christian faith, pursue happiness, seek economic prosperity, and enjoy the fullness of this earthly life He has given us. On behalf of the faculty and staff, we hope this Fourth of July allows you to make a few lasting memories with your family!
Sincerely,
|
