WCAC Head Start to host Multicultural Night
Southeast Asian Coalition's Worcester Youth Nian Dancers to perform

Southbridge, Massachusetts - Worcester Community Action Council, Inc.'s Head Start program will host its annual Multicultural Night celebration on Thursday, April 27th from 4-7 p.m. at its center located at 25 Cole Avenue, Southbridge.

Classrooms will be decorated and feature a hands-on craft or activity based on a different country, while teachers and staff will help prepare food and drink samples from around the globe. The event is intended to be a true celebration of the diverse cultures which make up our world.  You're never too young to learn about celebrating diversity!

A highlight of the evening is sure to be a performance by the  Southeast Asian Coalition's Worcester Youth Nian Dancers.  The performance is supported in part by a grant by the Southbridge Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The performance is being presented as part of the Head Start program's year long 25th anniversary celebration.

WCAC's Head Start program currently serves 203 children, ages 3-5, and their families at the Cole Avenue site. Full day, full year; full day, school year; and half day, school year options are available. The center-based program provides developmentally appropriate curricula, health and nutrition services, breakfast, lunch and snack, special education opportunities, and family services. All classrooms are nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Services are provided at no charge to families meeting income-eligibility guidelines. WCAC's Head Start program serves families from the communities of East Brookfield, Leicester, Millbury, Oxford, Spencer, Southbridge and Webster.
