I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT

"HE said ! SHE said"

Woodstock, CT:

Thanks to the co-ordination of Pastor Norm we had a very special three day Witness Breakthrough (WB) training for over 100 representing numerous churches approximately 8 years ago

There were two comments made at the end of the three days that I will never forget after I asked the attendees...

"WHAT DID YOU GET OUT OF THE THREE DAY WB CONFERENCE?"

HE SAID...

1-The Chairman of the church elder board got up and he said in front of everyone

"I'M GUILTY OF DOING CHURCH WORK AND NOT THE WORK OF THE CHURCH"

...meaning we can get so busy with necessary church work but let it take the place of essential Luke 19:10 ministry ...

seeking and saving the lost.

and

SHE SAID...

2-A young woman who coordinated the attendance of a group of young people from her church said "WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE WB WEEKEND...

The training is not THEORETICAL but ACTUAL!

An ACTUAL "PERSONAL" unique WITNESS RECAP

in New England... it was an answer to prayer because many people had said to me,

"You can't witness in

New England like you do elsewhere in America"

However they were shown differently by these examples...

DAY 1 ...I saw a waitress claim Jesus as Savior while I was eating with two pastors

(They eat there often and knew the waitress by name... but told me they were embarrassed because they never shared the Gospel with her)

DAY 2...I saw a young man from the hood claim Jesus as Savior next to a "hot and heavy" basketball game

at a local park

DAY 3...We saw two young men who joined us on the golf course simultaneously, out loud, claim Jesus as Savior.

(Never before or since have I seen it happen on the golf course during the round of golf ...where simultaneously two people out loud claimed Jesus as Savior)

THAT'S WB...ACTUAL not theory !

WITHOUT QUESTION-

Not every witness has the results described above...it was unusual and definitely an answer to my prayers

...but as we sow often we always know the joy of planting the seed of the gospel as described in my very recent visit to the doctor's office

(see below)

THEORETICAL messages...

teaches witnessing as a lecture and something we definiely need to do...

but leaves out the actual witness experience

The book of MATTHEW points out ACTUAL

"And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Mat. 4:19

The book of ACTS points out ACTUAL also:

"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them."

Acts 4: 13, 16-18, 20, 23

A Sober Observation:

Though most mature Christians who study the Word and can quote verses related to witnessing (praise God)...unfortunately many have rarely experienced the above verses in their daily walk...

Peter and John in the Acts verses above are great role models for all who know Jesus as not only Savior...

but also as Lord of their lives...

Acting out of love-

the following "Acts 4:23 reporting back examples" at the doctors appointment can give a person

WITNESS BREAKTHROUGH in their normal encounters...

This week...

A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT

1- THE RECEPTIONIST...

I checked in for my ultrasound appointment prior to my Doctor's appointment...I said to the receptionist, "How are you today?"

She said, "GREAT!" I said, "Are you really?"...her smile turned sober and she said, "I'M OK..."

After a little paperwork with her she said, "Please have a seat.." I said, "I want to make your day really GREAT"...I shared my 30 second testimony using my wristband as my guide. I AM A SINNER, JESUS CHRIST IS MY SAVIOR, John 3:16 ... then gave the wristband to her and said, "Please wear this and be reminded of God's love for you"...As I walked away she said, "I REALLY NEEDED THIS, I WILL NEVER TAKE THIS OFF!"

2-THE RADIOLOGIST...

She was professional, friendly and very busy...When she finished after close to 45 minutes...She told me she would immediately get the results to the doctor in time for my appointment...I said, "I want to thank you for the professional care with a great attitude..." I shared my 30 second testimony using my wristband as the the guide...then gave her the wristband...she immediately put it on...I said, "If you want to wear it but not be so bold...turn it inside out so the wording doesn't show, but you can still look it often"...She said, "NO, I WILL PROUDLY WEAR IT SO IT CAN BE SEEN!"

3-THE DOCTORS APPOINTMENT...

During my doctor's appointment we discussed my positive ultrasound treatment results...He's been my vascular specialist for nearly 4 years so we have a very good relationship...He too has had some medical issues...My last visit before I left him, I put my hand on his shoulder and prayed for his health...He was visibly blessed... This appointment I did the same...and much to my joy after I finished he said a short prayer for me...then we hugged

AS I LEFT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE...

for many to hear I said...

"I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY NEXT

DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT !!!"

CONCLUSION:

"ACTUAL"

witnessing sure beats

"THEORETICAL"

teaching and training

at the doctor's office and wherever we live,

move and have our being
