He Hath Shewed Thee, O Man!!! 4/10/24
Matthew 24:1-2 (KJV)
1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
John 2:19-20 (KJV)
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
Can you imagine the PRIDE AND JOY of Jesus' disciples when they gleefully exhibited the MASTER PIECE of the Jewish religion-the “magnificent” Temple, which took 46 YEARS to build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our Lord and Savior simply scoffed at its “magnificence” and quietly informed His followers of the foolishness of man's endeavors.
Matthew 24:2 (KJV)
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Can you say SAND CASTLES!!!!???
Should I add the foolishness of the Tower of Babel?
Genesis 11:4 (KJV)
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Genesis 11:5-9 (KJV)
5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
WE human beings-especially those of my generation thought/believed that WE could and WOULD actually change/impact this earthly world of woe.
WE have and do spend our lives seeking earthly fame and fortune and then spend our retirement age and days seeking medical redemption!!!
NEVER realizing that enough is ENOUGH!!!
BUT this is what our Lord really requires of YOU and me:
Micah 6:8 (KJV)
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
God is NOT out to “get us”!!!!
Psalm 40:6 (KJV)
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
God is FOR us!!!
Romans 8:31 (KJV)
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
The lyrics from Casting Crowns says it well:
“Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who You are.”
I often think of that “poor” widow, who “cast in all that she had, even her living!!!”
Mark 12:41-44 (KJV)
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Please note also that “Jesus SAT over against the treasury, and BEHELD HOW the people cast money into the treasury!!”
IT WAS AND NEVER WILL BE THE AMOUNT OF HUMAN ENDEAVOR!!!!
It was and IS all about the HEART!!!
1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)
7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Jesus correctly summed out our DUTIES as God's children:
Matthew 6:19-20 (KJV)
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Beloved, please understand as soon as possible that we are NOT human DO-ings, but human BE-ings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again, may I quote the Prophet's Words:
