President's Note 
Have you checked out the spirit wear yet?  Orders EXTENDED through Sept 19.  We have masks available for those students returning to the school building in a few weeks (and those returning in a few months).

Also, please take the time tonight to assign yourself to your child's teacher via MemberHub.  Instructions on how to do so are below.  It will help us as we get room parents up and going (looking for a volunteer opportunity?), as they will utilize MemberHub as their way of communicating.

Students Return to Classroom

Huntsville City Schools has announced their plan to return traditional students to the classroom. The link to the plan is above, in the calendar section.  Ms. Spivey send the specifics for HCES students via email last week.  Students will begin returning by cohort on a staggered schedule 9/14.

Please note, the cut off date for making changes to your child's specific enrollment is Wednesday, 9/9.
 
Room Parents


We need Room Parents!  If you are interested, please email your name, student's name/grade level and which teacher you are requesting to hcespta01.volunteer@gamil.com.  
Please also make sure you are in our PTA MemberHub account and have joined your teacher hubs.  Information on how to do so is listed below.
 
Reflections:  I Matter Because...


It is time to start planning your "I Matter Because..." PTA Reflections entry.  Entries will be due to HCES by Oct. 28.  We will be utilizing DropBox to collect all entries digitally.  More information on how to submit to DropBox will be forthcoming.

Please remember students may submit entries in any of the six categories as well as submit multiple times per category.  The six Reflections categories are: Film Production, Dance Choreography, 
Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, and Literature.

Masks, tees, and sport tees are available in sizes Youth XS to Adult XL.  Orders are made via Short Stop at: Hawk Spirit Wear

Orders extended thru Sept 19!

As spirit wear is usually given to the student at school, we are offering neighborhood porch pickup in Hampton Cove, McMullen Cove and Nature's Cove.  Porch pickup locations will be advised once the order is ready to distribute. This new choice creates three separate shipping options as follows:
1. Ship to you directly (leave neighborhood blank, choose ship to me on the shipping page, there will be a cost involved)
2.  Personal Pickup at Short Stop (leave neighborhood blank, choose local pickup on the shipping page, there is no cost)
3.  Porch Pickup (select which neighborhood, then ALSO select local pickup as that secures the no shipping cost)
 
PTA Membership and MemberHub
Hey, Parents!

Wouldn't it be great if you could see who is in your child(ren)'s class? Wouldn't it be doubly great if you could do that virtually, from your own home, just by signing up...for FREE??
 

Have you already signed up, and are ready to add you/your child(ren) to their classroom Hubs? 
  • Once you log in to MemberHub, you will be on the HCES Dashboard page. Along the top, you will see a tab labeled "Join Hubs". That link will take you to the classroom Hubs. Scroll until you see your child(ren)'s teacher's name, and then click the blue "Join" tab to the far right. Ta-da! You're in!

  • You do not need to join any grade level hubs.  Once you join your specific teacher you will be automatically entered into that grade levels hub as well.
  • Please note:  If you previously joined an HVA hub you will need to now join your specific teacher as we have removed the HVA hubs.
Do you want access to the school directory? Have a chance to vote on this year's PTA Budget? Have free entrance to any PTA-sponsored events throughout the year?

  • Yes? Join the HCES PTA! Once you log in to MemberHub, you will be on the HCES Dashboard page. Along the left side of the page, you will see a link labeled "Shop". That link will take you to our HCES store. Happy shopping!

  • Note:  The HCES directory will not be printed this year. It will only be available to PTA members through the HCES MemberHub. Membership gives you immediate access; no waiting for a hard copy this year!
