STEAM Week and Healthy Hawks Fun Run

WCA families,

Thank you for supporting STEAM Week and the Fun Run with your time and resources. These events were a tremendous success because of your involvement. Your efforts and contributions made an impact for WCA students, staff, and the missions and ministries of the school.

Support for the Fun Run Campaign has been incredible!

• 94% participation from WCA families
• $23,000 raised!
• Six classes with 100% participation

OPERATION SANDWICH

Thursday, March 28

WCA Hawks will observe Holy Week by making sandwiches to feed our homeless brothers and sisters. Sandwiches will be donated to Roof Above in uptown Charlotte and to the Community Shelter of Union County. 

The following donations are needed:

• tablecloths
• individual mustard packs
• zip lock bags  

All items must be sent in by Monday, March 25. 

Many volunteers are needed to assist with making and delivering sandwiches on Thursday, March 28.

INVITATION TO HOLY WEEK

AT WEDDINGTON METHODIST CHURCH

Palm Sunday (March 24): Join us for a special Palm Sunday worship experience as we commemorate Christ's entry into Jerusalem. Traditional and praise & worship services, including children's palm processions, will be held at various times throughout the morning, with livestream options available for those unable to attend in person.

Holy Thursday (March 28): We invite you and your family to join us for a special worship service to remember the Last Supper and share communion together. Nursery care is available for children ages 9 and under beginning at 6:45 p.m. Livestream available for those unable to attend in person.

Good Friday (March 29): Join us for special Good Friday worship services to commemorate the passion of Jesus Christ through song, prayer, reflection and an invitation to repentance. Nursery care is available for children ages 9 and under starting at 6:45 p.m. in the children’s wing of the Weddington Campus. Livestream available for those unable to attend in person.

Easter Sunday (March 31): Experience the joy of the Resurrection through special worship services and uplifting music suitable for all ages. Services at various times throughout the day, with nursery care and classes available. Livestream available for those unable to attend in person.

ESA+ and Opportunity Scholarship

Application Updates for 2024-2025

Applications for the 2024-25 ESA+ and Opportunity Scholarship programs have closed, and we will begin notifying families of their award status in April. 

Families that applied for a scholarship should do the following:

Check email regularly. This is how we will send important program information. Families can find copies of all emails from the program in their MyPortal account.

Accept or decline an award offer. Families who are offered a scholarship will have three weeks to accept or decline their offer in MyPortal.

Complete the school admissions process. Awarded students must be enrolled and attending by October 1^st to use scholarship funds.

WCA students will be among those who are confirmed. We invite you to join WMC for our Confirmation service on Sunday, March 24, at 5:30 p.m. in the Weddington Campus Sanctuary. All are welcome to be a part of this special event! A reception will follow in Helms Hall. Nursery care will be available.
