Third Sunday of Easter

O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

By Cindy Schumacher

In October 2013, the four Episcopal churches on Maui, Holy Innocents in Lahaina, St. John’s Kula, Trinity-by-the-Sea in Kihei, and Good Shepherd, moved on the initiative of one man to serve the growing unsheltered population on the island. Leaders in Training Complete 2024 Service Project

The first weekend of the Leaders in Training program at Camp Mokulē'ia was a success! These 9th and 10th graders worked hard to learn and discuss what leadership means and how they can be better facilitators with their peers. They had time to plan and practice games and discussion questions to put into practice at the Episcopal Diocesan Youth Retreat April 12-14 this weekend. They will lead the get-to-know you games, name games, team building activities, and some of the discussion questions for breakout groups with the guidance of our knowledgeable staff. One LIT said, “The first weekend helped me be more confident, gave me a chance to work on my gratitude and taught me to give concise instructions.” We are excited to see their growth and leadership with the rest of the youth at the retreat! (Story and photos from the Camp's online newsletter)
