Proper 14
Grant to us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

CAMP 2024: MEMORIES TO LAST A LIFETIME
Our 2024 Summer Camp season has come to an end but the memories will last a lifetime! This year, Camp Mokulēʻia hosted over 250 campers from ages 6-18 over 5 weeks. Through outdoor adventures and educational workshops, our campers had the chance to learn new skills, make new friends and grow in confidence. But more than that, we made sure to shine God's love on all of our campers, creating an inclusive and supportive environment. It was a truly inspiring experience that we'll never forget, and we can't wait to do it all over again next year! (Photos and story from the Camp Mokulēʻia online newsletter)

Racial Reconciliation Task Force Launches New Curriculum!
After two busy years, the Diocese's Racial Reconciliation Task Force is pleased to announce the launch of their new hybrid curriculum to "put reconciliation in action." It combines the Difference course which is part of the Archbishop of Canterbury's Reconciliation Ministry, to help people and churches navigate a fractured world with three goals: 1. Be Curious! 2. Be Present! 3. Reimagine! They have adapted it to Hawai'i's unique culture through supplemental Hawaiian sessions called Hō'imi Pono. You can view the welcome/introductory video HERE, and a related video, "What it means to be a follower of Jesus," featuring folks from around the Diocese.
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Resume Meetings
After the challenges of COVID forced many to meet over Zoom or other electronic means, so did the Episcopal Church Women in Hawai'i. They recently resumed in-person meetings in March, and are continuing to meet quarterly. Pictured above, the women met on Saturday, July 27, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Mo'ili'ili, with Father Charles Browning II (second row center). Their next gathering will be their annual meeting in November. If you'd like more information about the ECW, visit the Diocesan website HERE, and contact Louise Aloy or Laurie Lee. Items Needed on Moloka'i: Drop off at DSC by September 1 |
Life on one of the smaller, rural islands of Hawai'i, has a lot of benefits and joys. People who live here on Moloka'i love it, but life on a smaller island has its challenges. At Grace Episcopal, we try to address some of those challenges with our Saved by Grace Thrift Store. There you can find affordable clothing for yourself and your children, items for your kitchen, lamps for your bedroom, and even some art for your walls. In our "Blessings" section, many things are provided free to those who may be unemployed or struggling financially.
What we haven’t been able to provide with any consistency are some of the essentials for everyday life like sheets and towels. We don’t have stores on our island that carry them and have only one hotel that could possibly donate them when they are ready to take them out of service. Do you have a source for items like these? Are you changing towels and/or sheets in your own home? Do you have a connection with a hotel that could provide these items when they take them out of service? These don’t need to be new, but they should be in good shape, clean, and have some life left in them.
Canon Sandy Graham will be visiting Grace on September 1, and has offered to bring donated items with him. Please contact Canon Sandy by email HERE to arrange drop-off at the Diocesan Support Center before August 31, although he will help figure out arrangements after that date too.

Holy Nativity has had their system, encompassing four buildings, for 10 years, whereas the system at Good Samaritan is currently being installed on three buildings. Participating in the site visit were Jana Dove, David Caldwell, Brandon Casey, and the Rev. Peter Wallace. The Bishop's Committee is currently assessing proposals for a solar project at St. Tim's.
