On Friday, June 14 the community came out to the 2nd annual Haverfood Festival. They enjoyed food from 13 food trucks, entertainment including a dunk tank, DJ & photo booth, face painting, and so much more! Thank you to our sponsors: Tri-Point Electric; BHCU; Heiler Painting; and Summit Swimming Pools. All money raised goes directly to the work we do in the township.

Modern Mexican Cuisine Hits Havertown

The Havertown community can’t seem to get its fill of delicious Mexican fajitas and margaritas, and Al Pastor arrived in March of this year to meet the demand! With their extensive food and drink menus and Happy Hour offerings, there are plenty of options for lovers of modern Mexican fare. We sat down with Co-Owner Joe Monnich and General Manager Shanna Mooney to learn more about their history and hopes for Al Pastor Havertown.

Discover Haverford takes on PA’s Premier Revitalization Conference in York

Four members of Discover Haverford’s team attended the PA Premier Revitalization Conference hosted by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, including Jeanne Angell (Executive Director), Sarah Cazella (Project Coordinator), Lynn Fitzgerald (Project Coordinator), and Amy Saxon (Summer Intern). This year, the conference was hosted in York, Pennsylvania, from June 23rd to June 26th. The theme was "Crossroads of Community & Collaboration: Building Dynamic and Innovative Partnerships,” which focused on how different organizations can form connections and work together to transform communities. Discover Haverford had the opportunity to engage with fellow individuals and organizations from all over the state who are dedicated to downtown economic revitalization.

Supporting Local During the Summer Months

It's important to support local businesses all year round, but especially during the summer months when the community may be traveling more than usual. Spend locally at your favorite boutique and watch the local economy grow. Here are a few ways you can support locally this summer.

Gift cards- whether you use them now or save for a later date, the sale of a gift card gives the business owner immediate cash businesses can use to pay rent, employees or feed their loved ones.
Donate a skill- not all small business owners have lawyers, accountants or marketing professionals on staff. These efforts will go a long way to help our local business owners.
Share on social- Like a post, leave a review or share your photo from dining out!
Tip Extra- If you are ordering take-out or having something delivered, tipping a little more will do more than you think.
Heading to the shore or mountains? Grab your food locally and bring it with you! Prepared meals from home always taste better.
Gifts - Our local gift shops have the perfect hostess gift for that bbq you are attending.
