Message From the National Association of REALTORS®

It has come to NAR’s attention that one of the advertisers using NAR’s marketing system used language (“stop cutting your commission”) that does not reflect the views and policy of NAR related to an otherwise non-controversial and important point (that you should not underestimate your value). As the advertising disclaimer says, NAR

does not review claims or endorse advertisers’ statements. To be clear and knowing our members would have read this advertising as intended, broker commissions are set by individual brokers at the level they choose and in consultation with their clients, and compensation is always negotiable. And, of course, per NAR policy, boards and associations of REALTORS® and their MLSs shall not: “Fix, control, recommend, or suggest the commissions or fees charged for real estate brokerage services.”
