What is Direct Access physical therapy?

Simply stated, Direct Access is the opportunity for an individual to obtain Physical Therapy services without a physician's referral (or prescription). This places physical therapy as a first line of service profession (along with MD's, DO's, Chiropractors, Dentists...). This immediate access to a PT allows for the diagnosis and treatment of injury to occur efficiently and effectively with the result of a decreased length in the healing process. Health insurance DOES pay for Direct Access PT. If you are experiencing neck or back pain, headaches, any type of joint pain, difficulty turning your head while driving, trouble with standing or getting out of bed or any other pains or limitations, realize that you can choose YOUR physical therapist and create a relationship that will help you to "keep moving"!
