Still Time to Make Your Voice Heard

By now you have likely seen media attention surrounding our sector and the urgent need to address funding for Developmental Services.

Over three decades, Developmental Service organizations have received total base funding increases of less than 4% – not even close to covering rising costs, new services, and increased demand over 30 years. Organizations are being forced to cut programs and crucial operating expenses, despite the growing need for their services.

While our team at Community Living Huntsville continues to work hard to maintain robust and sustainable services, sustainable funding through provincial investment is vital for Developmental Services across our province now and into the future.

We stand with Community Living Ontario and other advocates in urging the provincial government to boost base funding for Developmental Service organizations, Passport, and Special Services at Home by 5%, immediately.

You can make your voice heard by signing Community Living Ontario's #5ToSurvive petition before the provincial government presents its 2024 budget on March 26. Together, we can help people with developmental disabilities and their families get the services and support they deserve.
