RISING STARS...HONORING THE CLASS OF 2024!

On Thursday, May 30, the Ironmen community gathered to celebrate the graduation of 85 seniors at the Stefanski Stadium. Family and friends filled the stands, cheering as our scholars walked the stage to receive their diplomas. We are immensely proud of the Class of 2024 for their hard work and dedication. This class has incredibly bright futures ahead of them, with many moving on to four-year colleges, others pursuing trades, and some entering the workforce.

Notably, the top 10 percent of the graduating class achieved a cumulative GPA of over 4.0. Leading the class, Valedictorian Ivan Murillo `24 earned the highest cumulative GPA, while Salutatorian Lee Collins `24 secured the second highest. Many of our top scholars have received scholarships to their colleges of choice.

During this week's awards ceremony, CCCHS Assistant Principal Sean Belveal delivered an inspiring speech, saying, "While we celebrate, let us remember the times of challenges, how those challenges led to growth, and how that growth led us to this moment. We first and foremost say thanks to all of the teachers and staff at CCC who worked vigilantly to help educate and challenge the students, the families and friends who walked alongside their graduates giving wisdom, hope, and time, and finally, the graduates themselves, who have spent the last four years of their lives dedicated to accomplishing this part of their journey."

Congratulations to the Cleveland Central Catholic High School Class of 2024!

CCCHS TRACK & FIELD ADVANCES TO STATES

Congratulations to K’Yanna Penn `26 and Jailen McNair `25 for qualifying for the Track and Field State Championship! They will be competing today at the Welcome Stadium in Dayton, Ohio. Both K’Yanna and Jailen placed top four in the regional finals in the 100-meter dash. K'Yanna ran 12.2 seconds and Jailen ran 11.02 seconds. "We are truly proud of their success this year!" said Track and Field Coach, Monique Boykins." Go Ironmen!"

ENJOYING "IRONMAN DAY" WITH STUDENTS

The inaugural Field Day at CCCHS brought students and staff together for a day of community, celebration and camaraderie. Under the leadership of Jarritt Goode, Dean of Student and Family Engagement, the event was a resounding success filled with fun, food, friends, and festivities. The day's activities included sack races, balloon races, tug of war, basketball, kickball, an inflatable obstacle course, musical chairs, face painting, tie-dyeing, a dance performance by the flag team and so much more!

Thank you to our dedicated teachers and staff members whose hard work and enthusiasm made this day possible. Their efforts ensured that Field Day was an enjoyable and memorable experience for all involved! Students and staff are already looking forward to the event next year!

OSU BOUND

We are excited to share that two of our top students, Mikah Payne `24 and Damond Young `24 will be attending The Ohio State University this fall. Before their graduation ceremony, Mikah and Damond posed with faculty members, Mrs. Valerie Cooper and Mr. Mark Messner who are Ohio State alumni.

The group showed their Buckeye pride in O - H - I - O formation! Congratulations to Mikah and Damond and best of luck to you in your college journey at OSU!

We are wrapping up with the last of our Senior Spotlights! We hope you have enjoyed reading about our talented Class of 2024!

Graduates, we wish you all the very best and hope that you will always cherish your time at CCCHS. As you move forward, hold onto the values and lessons you have learned. Believe in yourself and your abilities. You have the power to shape your future and make a meaningful impact on the world.  Remember that you are ALWAYS part of the Ironman family – be sure to stop back and visit us!

Nevaeh Wallace `24 has mixed feelings about graduating and leaving the CCCHS family…..she will greatly miss her classmates and teachers, but she is also very excited to start a new journey. She has built on three very positive traits in her high school years and those include her confidence, creativity, and her ability to adapt to new situations.

Some of her favorite memories at CCCHS include the very spirited pep rallies and the Kairos retreat. She will always remember her math teacher, Ms. Patricia Vail who helped her along the way and made sure she was achieving her best.

Nevaeh plans to continue her studies this fall at Kent State University. In order to get the best experience possible while in college, she is going to follow the same advice she has recommended to the incoming Ironman freshman class, and that is to "participate in everything you can and don’t procrastinate with your work!"

Nevaeh, believe in yourself and your abilities. The future is yours, and we can't wait to see all the wonderful things you'll accomplish!

Lee Collins, Jr. '24 has made the most of his time at CCCHS and is also very excited to begin a new chapter and continue making new memories! He describes graduation as a bitter sweet moment like many, however he adds, “it is definitely more SWEET than it can ever be bitter!”

Lee is a true Ironman leader – he was involved in various clubs and participated in just about every activity CCCHS had to offer.  In doing so, he built so many lifelong friendships and created a special bond with staff and teachers at the school. His positive “CAN-DO” attitude is what has always kept him going. The advice that he would give to incoming freshman is to “Always be yourself – do what is best for you in whatever you choose to do.”

We all share Lee’s pride of earning top in his class and being named the CCCHS 2024 Salutatorian! Lee received an amazing scholarship to attend Clark Atlanta University in the fall. He plans to study business & marketing, and will carry on doing what he does best…..that is staying social and active! He will continue the sport of cheerleading, join a fraternity, and will run track.

Congrats Lee! Good luck on your next adventure!
