On Sunday, September 19th, Rhine Hall will be launching their Chicago Maker's Market from 12 - 6 PM! Stop by their Tasting Room to peruse art work, crafts, treats, and goods from a rotating group of small local businesses while enjoying a Rhine Hall cocktail.
Farmer's Fridge, a company who's headquartered in Make City, has expanded their delivery to more states! Farmer's Fridge's fresh, ready-to-eat salads, meals, and snacks can now be delivered to 42 states. Delivery is not part of a subscription service. Learn more.

The Renegade Craft Fair is returning on September 18 - 19 on Division between Damen and Ashland from 11 AM - 7 PM. Justice of the Pies will be selling quiches, pies, and more. You can also shop from other Hatchery businesses Carolyn's Krisps and Onigiri Kororin. See more.
Soap Distillery launched its Fall Collection in early September! The Fall Collection, with spicy, smoky, and earthy fragrances, includes the favorite Rye Whiskey candle and Pumpkin IPA, Rusty Nail, and Fig Bitters soap bars. Shop the new collection online here.

ICNC is currently hiring to add a Building Maintenance/Laborer II to join the maintenance team. Tenants, members, and West Side businesses are hiring for various jobs in food and beverage and other industries.

PepsiCo Foundation + ICNC Year 2 Program Highlights
Through a partnership with the PepsiCo Foundation, ICNC's Workforce Development Department has been able to support small businesses for two years by providing ServSafe Trainings, discounted Sprouts Incubation and Bloom Memberships, free kitchen hours at The Hatchery, and paid-for internships.
  • Sprouts Incubation: 18 100% off ($300 value) enrollment discounts and 17 50% off enrollment discounts.
  • Bloom Membership: 12 100% off ($500 value) enrollment discounts and 8 50% off enrollment discounts.
  • Internships: Enrolled 39 interns and paid them $13.50/hr; 25 completed internship hours and 12 of them were hired permanently.
  • 29 were females
  • 35 were people of color
  • 17 came from the neighborhood
  • ServSafe Trainings:
  • Food Handler: 48 people took and passed the course and exam.
  • 33 were female
  • 39 were people of color
  • 19 from the neighborhood
  • Manager: 144 people took the Manager course and exam and 106 passed the exam.
  • 94 were female
  • 124 were people of color
  • 62 were from the neighborhood
  • Kitchen Hours: 1,170.5 free hours were provided.

ICNC's Make City incubator offers a thriving entrepreneurial community and immediate access to ICNC's advising, export, and advocacy services alongside 100 other small, modern urban manufacturing businesses. ICNC supports small businesses and the West Side community through incubation, advocacy, and advising.
The Hatchery is a non-profit food and beverage incubator dedicated to helping local entrepreneurs build and grow successful businesses through cutting-edge kitchen facilities, entrepreneurship curriculum, partnerships with generous corporate sponsors and foundations to create local job opportunities and accelerate local economic growth.
The Illinois Small Business Development Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, and the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC).
