Happy August!
Or, is it?
As someone who loves to use astrology and the archetypes and cycles of the sky to better understand the timing AND the quality of the time I'm living in from week to week, August is definitely a month out of the year that gives chaos vibes. Mercury (planet of technology, communication, and travel) is retrograde all month long (Aug 4th to Aug 28th), and there will be multiple challenging aspects involving Mars (planet of aggression, motivation and leadership), Saturn (planet of rules and responsibilities) and Uranus (planet of abrupt change and unexpected events) within the last two weeks of the month.
Yikes.
Whether any of this energy lands for you personally this month or not, it would certainly not hurt to consider slowing things down as much as possible this month. Look at your schedule and make sure that you have left more than enough time not only to get where you are going, but to nourish your body with food, water, sleep, and joy along the way.
If you're having a day or week (or two) when your head is swirling and you start to feel like your stress might be reaching the point of overwhelm, drop your awareness down into your body.
Bring your awareness to your feet.
Intentionally let your feet make contact with the ground.
You can do this standing, but also make sure that whatever chair you sit in most of the day has foot support so that your feet have something to push into as you sit.
**Tip for my fellow short people - reams of printer paper make great foot support!
