OUR GREEN HEART: The Soul & Science of Forests Botanist, medical biochemist, and author Diana Beresford-Kroeger, possesses a unique combination of western scientific training and a deep knowledge of ancient Celtic wisdom. Her memoir, To Speak for the Trees: My Life’s Journey From Ancient Celtic Wisdom To a Healing Vision of the Forest, was published in 2019 and her latest book is Our Green Heart: The Soul and Science of Forests.
For world-recognized scientist and visionary, Diana Beresford-Kroeger, trees are a religion. In her eyes, forests are cathedrals that present humanity with numerous divine gifts including the source of the planet’s potential salvation. “I want to remind you that the forest is far more than a source of timber. It is our collective medicine cabinet. It is our lungs. It is the regulatory system for our climate and our oceans. It is the health and well-being of our children and grandchildren. It is the mantle of our planet and our sacred home.”

Furnishing Hope
Due to a recent policy change by the State of Massachusetts, Furnishing Hope is experiencing an unprecedented surge in demand for our services. We are committed to supporting every family referred to us, but to do so we urgently need to raise an additional $20,000 this year.
This past spring, the Healey administration introduced a new "Length of Stay" policy which limits family shelter stays to nine months, accelerating families' transition into stable housing. This change has led to a record number of referrals: over 60 families were referred for our services in just three and a half months, shattering our previous records and projections.
Initially, we had planned and budgeted to assist 80+ families throughout 2024. However, by early October, we will have already met this target, with three months still remaining in the year. We now expect to serve at least 115 families, requiring us to expand our resources significantly.
To continue our mission of providing essential furniture, home goods, moving, and setup services to these families, we urgently need to raise an additional $20,000. This funding will enable us to make 35 additional deliveries to families, do 12 more furniture donation pickups, and purchase needed items to supplement our Kitchen, Bedding, Bathroom & Toiletries Starter Sets.
Here’s how you can help:
* Any contribution of any size, will make a substantial difference. Your donation will directly support families working to rebuild their lives.
Donate
* Share our mission and urgent need with your network. Sometimes, the power of a community can turn hope into reality for those in need.
We are committed to supporting every family referred to us, but we cannot do this without your help. Thank you for considering this urgent request. We are immensely grateful for your continued support and belief in our mission.

Help Betsy Siggins Chronicle Folk Music History
We are sharing a GoFundMe to enable our treasured Betsy Siggins to work with author Liz Thomson on the memoir she has long yearned to complete. Bad Boys & Daring Girls: Betsy Siggins & The Story of Club 47 & The Music That Changed the World will both chronicle and honor Betsy’s life’s work and times and, in so doing, fill in the missing pieces of a culturally important mosaic. The book’s value is immense, capturing the stories of a generation and a genre from the perspective of witness, participant, cheerleader, and influencer. Betsy’s involvement in and on the folk world spanned from the late 1950s to the present, with her holding folk music’s institutional memory eager to be recorded and preserved.
