We remove barriers, build communities, and empower women

Support Our Center!

As we wrap up Women’s History Month, let’s remember that achieving gender equity is a 365 day a year effort. We are asking you, our community, to continue to encourage others to inspire inclusion.

To get you started, here are four simple and effective ways:

  • In the meeting, rotate the note-taking responsibilities, even if she is the only one who volunteers to take them;

  • On the zoom, let her finish her point, without interrupting her or restating it as your own;

  • In the classroom, call on her to answer the question that you know she knows, even if her hand is not the highest raised;

  • In the home, do more than “help” —share — in the household and childcare responsibilities, even if she doesn’t ask you to do so.

Being inclusive means acting inclusively. It is why we created the Rutgers Center for Women in Business (CWIB). It is why we developed G.A.M.E.®, our male allyship program. It is why we curate groundbreaking research and develop insights that will make the workplace work for everyone.

How are you inspiring inclusion?

Congratulations to Lisa Kaplowitz, Executive director of CWIB, and Serena Simpkins, Associate at Kelso & Company and CWIB Associate Board member, for having their case study published by Ivey Publishing. Not only is it remarkable that their case study got published, but this encourages more finance cases with female protagonists of all races and ethnicities to be written. Lisa and Serena’s work is important in amplifying representation of gender, race and ethnicity in finance roles to inspire the next generation of women in business.

CWIB Golf Clinic & Networking

We had the honor of collaborating with the Rutgers University Women’s Golf Team to bring a Golf Clinic & Networking event to our community. This was a win-win for us all. Our community members learned golf tips from D1 golfers, some of whom are going to be pros, and paid it forward by mentoring these athletes. The connections made will last beyond the green.

We want to thank coach Kari Williams and Joanna Henry for efforts in making this clinic possible and their endless dedication to empowering their team.
