“We love and appreciate Jill's House and the entire staff more than I could ever express. Praise God for the heart and vision of the Solomon Family and their daughter, Jill, and the priceless gift you have given other parents with children who have special needs, a better life.”

– A Tysons Family

Happy (Belated) Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our partners who make it possible for us to love and serve our Jill's House kids and their families. Whether you give, volunteer, work, or pray for Jill’s House, we couldn’t do it without you!

Building Community

We enjoy sharing Jill’s House with members of our community. Students from Lorien Woods School in Vienna came for a visit. As our new friends toured Jill’s House, they learned that children with intellectual disabilities, who may look or sound different from them, are the same inside, and enjoy doing crafts, listening to music, and playing on the playground, just like they do.

We also hosted members of the Board of Directors for Jews for Jesus, led by longtime board member and Jill’s House Founder, Lon Solomon. They were delighted to see in person the facility that many of them have prayed over and helped to support since the beginning.

Circle of Life-Giving Rest

Jill’s House’s community of recurring donors is our Celebration Circle! Celebration Circle members are dedicated to committing a steady stream of funding, which enables Jill’s House to provide rest, renewal, and relationships for the amazing families we serve. Members of Celebration Circle receive a special welcome packet upon enrollment and monthly video updates explaining how their donations are helping the children and families served by Jill’s House. If you would like to join, please contact us at donate@jillshouse.org.

We are pleased to welcome Maisie Cherry to the 202425 Fellows Program. Maisie is from Livingston, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University where she studied Communication. She enjoys reading, camping, hiking, and photography. She says, “I had the best time last summer with kids and adults with disabilities at a non-profit in Colorado. I felt the Lord calling me to continue in this field. When I applied for Jill’s House, it felt like a door opening, and I am so excited!”

Alumni Support

Jill’s House’s Family Support team recently hosted a transition/alumni support group gathering. This parent-led group provides parents of adults with special needs a forum to share resources and experiences with other families who have children with disabilities and have aged out of a school system or are approaching this milestone. Rob Hudson from the Arc of Northern Virginia came to share his story as the father of a daughter with intellectual disabilities and encouraged the group members to share their stories and stay in the community with each other.
