THE MID-WEEK BUZZ

Happy Midweek Dear Church!

I must thank you all again for carrying on last weekend in my absence. What a blessing it was to walk with Freddie’s father as he made his way to Christ’s side. Thank you to everyone who made our All Saints Worship meaningful for many. An extra thank you to Vicki Holland who accepted some very late entries for the slideshow memorial on Saturday evening. Worship in this place indeed takes a village.

This coming Sunday we will take a moment to honor the veterans in our congregation. As your pastor, I boldly proclaim that war itself is never holy….but the willingness to serve is a holy calling. So Sunday, we will celebrate service. If you or someone you know is a veteran or currently serving, this would be a great time to invite them to church. Rumor has it that Andy has some really great music planned for us to sing.  Our scripture passage will come from 1st Peter, as well as the book of Acts, both found in the New Testament. To get a jump on the texts give them a glance at the links below:

Remember, Sunday morning following worship, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for a time of fellowship and our Annual Congregational Meeting, electing our new leadership for the coming year. Make it a priority to be in person this weekend. Until Sunday, remember that Jesus did not come into this world to be served, but rather to serve. My hope is that we can heed this holy example and like so many characters in our stories, receive new life as we give ourselves away to others, serving them in love. I love being your pastor.

Holding you close and lifting you high!

Pastor Greg

A Message from Pastor Debbie

Greetings,

Wasn’t the sharing time with Ryan last Sunday enlightening? It was so heartfelt. I love to hear people’s stories. I know not everyone is called to speak in front of the congregation, but if you want to write a note, I would love to hear from you.

Your story is part of your faith journey. God has called you here. You are called to do so much in your life.

I know I just need to spend time with God to hear where I am being led.

During our stewardship season, I invite you to listen to where God is leading you. What can we all do to expand the unique message we have on our little corner? How can we be more welcoming? How can people know we really mean, “All are welcome here”?

Blessings,

Pastor Debbie

LAST SESSION TONIGHT

CONFIRM NOT CONFORM

Thursday starting at

6pm-7:30pm

TONIGHT AT 6:00 p.m. is our LAST SESSION of Confirm Not Conform. For the past 10 weeks this faithful group of people have gathered every Thursday for a time of going a bit deeper in their faith, questioning and renewing who we say we are and what we believe. We look forward to sharing with you a bit of our journey during worship on Sunday morning, November 27th. That is the first Sunday of Advent 2023, the Sunday of HOPE.

Greetings From Outreach!

We can’t believe it's November already! Hoping you are enjoying the little change in weather.

This is a wonderful time in our Outreach Ministry. Together, we are able to meet the needs and send joy to many families by sharing God’s love with them and sharing our resources. Let’s start by making this Thanksgiving season a tasty one for our neighbors across the street at Solara.

This year we are adopting 10 families to receive our Thanksgiving Dinner baskets. We will give each family everything they need to have a Happy Thanksgiving Dinner. There will be a board in the Narthex that will have small cards of the items needed. You can choose the cards of the items you wish to purchase to create the Thanksgiving Dinner baskets.

Take them with you to the grocery store to remind you, then bring the items to church and place them in the Basket of Hope in the Narthex.

If you are choosing a gift card for a turkey, please note the preferred stores that are nearby. Also please give the card to a member of outreach or someone in the office.

If you need one of us to do your shopping for you, you can donate $$ and give it to any of the members of Outreach. We would be happy to do that for you.

We are assembling the baskets after church on Sunday, November 20th. Please bring your donation by then.

As always thank you so much for making the Outreach of our church amazing! You are always so generous and giving with your gifts.

God’s blessings to everyone!

And the winner is…..The Cones Family!

Their display was out of this world!

Thank you to all our church family and friends for making this year’s Trunk or Treat a success! We had many trunks fully decorated and loaded with your donations of candy and treats! Thank you for helping us reach out to the community! We had quite a few treaters that enjoyed our event! Fun was had by ALL!!!

Blessings to you always for being a part of this ministry!

Thank You from…

ADVENT 2022

“There’s a Light at the End of the Tunnel”

The advent season begins on Sunday, November 27th. This year, we will focus on the truth that, “there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.” The days of advent are dark; a time to ready your hearts for the glorious light of the Christ child on Christmas. As we travel together through the four weeks to Christmas, we are all called to embrace the darkness, while at the same time, striving forward toward the light at the end of our darkness

Unfortunately, I have not received any new recipes this week, so I am keeping up last weeks until I receive more! - Julie

Books & More

On October 25th we'll begin the discussion of Eternal by Lisa Scottoline.  Elisabetta, Marco, and Sandro grow up in Rome as the best of friends despite their differences. But in the autumn of 1937, everything changed as Mussolini asserts his power. Their connection to one another is tested in ways they never could have imagined.

Books & More will meet at our regular meeting place, the Fireside Room on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 10:00am.
