A Season for Thanksgiving

During this holiday season, we would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation to all of those who have supported us and our mission over the years. Without you there would be no society in our shared love of hummingbirds. We appreciate each and every one of you for your continued support.

We are also thankful to all of you who attended our 2022 Sedona Hummingbird Festival and helped in making it magical for all who were there. From staff, volunteers, attendees, presenters, vendors, banders, banding site homeowners, garden tour homeowners, board members, food vendors, and everyone else who had part in the festival (too many to count!)… thank you! We can't wait to see you all next year!

From all of us here at The International Hummingbird Society, we hope you have a splendid Thanksgiving!

The International Hummingbird Society was at the 41st Annual Old Tyme Country Fair in Cornville, AZ!

We loved being a part of this long-running fair in Cornville, AZ. We enjoyed connecting with our community and sharing our love of hummingbirds. Patrons who answered a fair number of questions correct on our posterboard were given a glittery hummingbird ornament! Thank you for the invite and for those who stopped by to learn more about us.

It's Getting Cold Out There!

The cold weather doesn't stand a chance against a Hummers Heated Delight. For those of you who have cold weather in the western United States, you have probably heard of the Anna's hummingbird. This hearty hummingbird can amazingly winter in southern parts of Alaska and even British Columbia. Help them out this season with a heated feeder! These feeders are powered by a 6 ft long, 2 prong household electrical plug, and a lightbulb. All you have to do is plug it in. No complex directions or settings. Click button below to order.

An Amazing Video from

 Carole Turek

Here is the description on Carole's video from her YouTube channel - "We finally got to photograph one of the most beautiful and most sought after hummingbirds in existence! Right on the outskirts of La Paz, Bolivia is the Bosquecillo de Auquisamaña, a protected area where the Red-tailed Comet hummingbird can be found. We chased after this bird all over Bolivia and finally got to photograph him on the our last morning! The Red-tailed Comet is a riot of color and I can truthfully say that I have never seen another hummingbird quite like this one! If I lived in La Paz, I would be hanging hummingbird feeders and trying to entice this one to my property!"

Celebrate the holidays with

our very own wine!

In all the vastness of the United States, there are a scant 17 species of hummingbird. In the small, southeastern corner of Arizona where this wine was grown, 15 species have been recorded! This is a special place for wildlife and wine alike and it is these birds that inspired the naming of our vineyard: Colibri (hummingbird in countless languages). Arizona's most abundant species of hummingbird is the Anna's, which was beautifully depicted on our label by renowned master wildlife artist Gamini Ratnavira from Sri Lanka. This stunning bird and this wild, earthy wine are a perfect pair; a pair whose sale will benefit the Hummingbird Society while also honoring the passing of Dr. H. Ross Hawkins, the Society's founder.
