Schulman Blitz, LLP congratulates our newest associate, Thomas Schiro, on passing the New York and New Jersey Bar Exams
 
Schulman Blitz, LLP is proud to introduce our newest associate, Thomas Schiro, who just found out that he passed the 2014 New York and New Jersey Bar Exams.  Upon his 2010 graduation from
Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey, Mr. Schiro   
went on to attend New York Law School where he  
received his Juris Doctor in 2014.  
 
At New York Law School, Mr. Schiro was a member of the Trial Advocacy Team and the President of the Italian Law Students Association. Mr. Schiro was a student intern at Schulman Blitz, LLP while he was in law school.  After he finished taking the New York and New Jersey bar exams, Mr. Schiro became a full time associate at Schulman Blitz, LLP where he has quickly proven himself to be a valuable asset and is on his way to becoming a top tier trial attorney.


Spotlight on Schulman Blitz, LLP attorney Stephanie A. Mastrocola 
 
Many of our clients' motor vehicle cases are handled by our associate Stephanie A. Mastrocola, Esq.   Ms. Mastrocola joined our firm in January 2011 and has over fifteen years of knowledge and experience in personal injury litigation.  She oversees the motor vehicle cases through all stages of litigation and has been very successful in defending motions made by defense attorneys' to dismiss plaintiffs' lawsuits.  

 

Ms. Mastrocola is committed to addressing our clients' concerns and in making the litigation process as straightforward as possible.  Her tireless efforts and drive to advocate for our clients have cumulatively brought about settlements totaling upwards of $8 million dollars to date. 

 

Ms. Mastrocola is a Brooklyn Technical High School graduate and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut in 1995 with degrees in Political Science and Italian Studies before attending Brooklyn Law School.  Ms. Mastrocola is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.

School Bus collides into Brooklyn woman's car
resulting in $450,000 Schulman Blitz, LLP settlement

Our client had just parked her car on Penrod Street in Queens, NY when she was stuck by a school bus which was attempting to make a turn. As a result, our client suffered a rotator cuff tear in her shoulder and herniated discs in her lumbar spine, both of which required surgical intervention. At trial, Justin Blitz, Esq. settled the case for $450,000 with the insurance company for the school bus. 
$300,000 for Westchester pedestrian struck by car

Our client had just parked and exited her car on Main Street in Mount Kisco, NY when she was stuck by a car.  As a result, our client suffered two fractured vertebrae, a fractured clavicle, several fractured ribs and a hemothorax, and was required to undergo multiple surgeries and extensive medical treatment.  Prior to filing a lawsuit, Fred Schulman Esq. 
settled the case with the insurance company for the car that struck our client for the maximum amount of available insurance that the vehicle had, $100,000.  Thereafter, we made a claim to our client's Supplementary Underinsured Motorist (S.U.M.) coverage and Mr. Schulman settled that claim for an additional $200,000, the maximum amount of available S.U.M. insurance.
Blood pressure medication causes scars:
Schulman Blitz, LLP settles medical malpractice case for $125,000
 
Our client, a grandmother from the Bronx,  
was improperly prescribed medication for high blood pressure which caused her to develop a rash and eczema on her entire body.  We brought a lawsuit against the doctor and the doctor's medical practice.  After depositions were held, Justin Blitz, Esq. settled the case for $125,000.
Schulman Blitz, LLP settles case for $200,000
for Brooklyn woman who fell over a defective sidewalk 

Fred Schulman, Esq.recently settled a case for our client who tripped and fell over a defective sidewalk in Brooklyn.  She sustained various injuries, and was required to undergo surgery on her knee.  We sued the owner of the building adjoining the defective sidewalk.  At his deposition, the owner of the adjoining building testified that the defect that our client tripped on had been there for at least 10 years, and that nothing was done to rectify it.  Shortly thereafter, the insurance company for the building settled the case with us for $200,000.
$325,000 settlement for woman injured in car accident 

Our client was a passenger in a car that was involved in an accident with another vehicle in the Bronx.   As a result, our client sustained serious injuries and required multiple surgeries.  Justin Blitz, Esq. settled the case for $325,000 with the insurance companies for the defendants shortly before depositions were scheduled to be held.
