Incentive Point Opportunity

Mentors Needed - Worcester Youth and Family Counseling

Why Mentor? Mentoring is a fun and easy way to give back to your community! Worcester Youth and Family Counseling provides multiple events and ideas of things to do with your mentee, as well as walk you through the entire process!

Mentors are asked to commit to the program for at least one year and will meet with their mentee at least twice per month. Mentors will be asked to provide one-on-one guidance, coaching and friendship to their mentee and maintain communication with the child’s parents or guardians on progress.

Mentors are not required to hold any special or advanced degrees in education or social services and are only asked to be supportive of the children enrolled in the program. Mentors can volunteer as an individual or group mentor and provide mentorship to a small group of students with common interests.

Mentors must pass a screening interview, criminal background check, have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and participate in 2 hours of training.

Give back in a positive way that could help change a student's life!

Associates will receive 1 incentive point/hour volunteering as a mentor. For more information and to sign up:

News & Updates

< Quality Achievements in the Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Department here at Atlantic General Hospital collects and analyzes performance indicators to ensure the high quality of care they provide to our patients. Medication administration processes, instituted and monitored by pharmacy associates, create safe care practices in the patient care units.

Antibiotic stewardship is an important element of the pharmacy team’s work. This process ensures the proper antibiotics are prescribed for each diagnosis. Improving this process decreases bacteria that have become resistant to certain antibiotics (MDROs). The pharmacy associates’ dedication to antibiotic stewardship has resulted in a 33% decrease in patients with resistant bacteria since December 2023 and ZERO C-diff cases since November 2023.  Ensuring the proper antibiotic is prescribed for all patients also decreases the length of stay and improves overall outcomes. Great work pharmacy!

Pyxis Overrides: The Pyxis in each patient care area provides safe medication storage and dispensing methods. Pyxis systems are tied to the verified medication orders from our prescribers. These systems keep a count of narcotics and other controlled medications. Ensuring clinical care associates properly use the Pyxis safety measures protects patients from possible medication error or harm.
