Happy New Year!

We have exciting news from the Americans in Wartime Experience!

As you may or may not know, the telling of our veterans stories, our Tank Farm annual Open House which attracts 15-20,000 visitors per year, and the opening of our Americans in Wartime Experience Museum in Dale City, VA is near and dear to Allan Cors' dream of providing a hands-on, learning experience. Allan Cors has collected an impressive inventory of military tanks and vehicles which he has restored, maintained, and exhibited at our annual Tank Farm Open Houses held in Nokesville VA. Today I am pleased to announce that Allan Cors and his family are holding many of his prized collection of tanks and military vehicles in reserve specifically for the Americans in Wartime Experience Museum. Once the relocation of these most valuable assets has occurred to our new museum site they will not only be on display but will be actively used in our Landscapes of War re-creations for everyone to enjoy and experience. We are tremendously blessed to be the future home of a number of Mr. Cors' collection of military vehicles!

The new museum will be located off of I-95 between the U.S. Marine Corps Museum at Quantico and the U.S. Army Museum at Ft. Belvoir. It will be a prized addition to the American Military History Trail with hand-on exhibits, special programs and other exciting events. The site of our new Museum in Dale City continues at a rapid pace. The groundwork changes weekly. It’s quite amazing to watch! You can see a video of the progression via drone shots here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dboEM_0PbS4&t=34s

We have also just hit a milestone by interviewing over 760 military veterans for our Voices of Freedom program. You may continue to see those videos on our website here: https://www.americansinwartime.org/explore/voices-of-freedom

And finally, with the opening of the Americans in Wartime Experience fast approaching, we have decided to end the tradition of an annual open house and pivot to smaller donor-focused events throughout the year. This decision did not come easily, but at this point in the process, we feel it is the right course of action, and that it will allow us to focus more intently on the process of raising the funds needed to bring about Allan Cors’ dream of an Experience Museum that will honor the service and sacrifice of Americans who served this great nation during wartime.
