A note from John Robinson, GM/COO
Happy New Year!
Reflecting, 2017 was a very busy calendar year for the IRCC community, achieving many accomplishments. We finished the Maintenance Expansion project, with a new storage building, a huge asset to time management. We completed the Pro Shop and the Croquet Court renovations and both really turned out beautifully. We have come a long way from where the Pro Shop was and what it looked like in 2005.
We also completed the South Pump House project, which controls the irrigation to the golf course and southern part of IRCC. The North Gate security upgrades are in effect and we have heard many positive comments on the dual gate, and walk through gate. In October we completed some more lake bank renovation.
On the horizon:
We are investigating the products and cost of a canopy over the Pro Shop entrance along with some pavers to beautify the Pro Shop and Fitness Center.
Aerating and de-thatching the residential lawns and painting the corporate buildings are on our agenda and the Club is in the planning stage for another pool party and some additional gourmet nights during the season.
I obviously cannot neglect touching on hurricane Irma. The preparation and recovery efforts for Irma were excellent thanks to IRCC Staff, Green Leaf Staff, and the members of IRCC. This community really pulled together which was not a surprise.
We were quite happy with how well prepared we were for a storm like Irma and Matthew but after watching what Maria did to Puerto Rico we are were concerned that a direct hit from either of those storms would have left us wanting, so we are now upping our game to be able to assist our members if we had a direct hit from a storm. All in all, the Staff performed amazingly this year during hurricanes, keeping costs down and membership satisfaction up.
Welcome to our two new Board Members, Dee Moskowitz and Robert Watts. I look forward to
working with them, hearing their ideas and sharing mine.
In closing, I w
a
nt t
o thank the IRCC Board of Directors for their service to this community, their support of the staff, and the leadership they show on a daily basis.
Out with the old, in with the new; may you be happy the whole year through. Happy New Year!
As many of you may be aware, IRCC was built in 1988, the first community in Viera FL for Military Officers. Patriotism has always been a priority of life here in the community, which is reflected by the Gate Ceremonies, Military Balls and Golf Cart parades honoring those that served our country. Today, not only for those retired from a military career, but for all those that have served and those devoted to the traditions of the U.S. Military. Indian River Colony Club is, by far, the perfect choice in an active 55+ community for you to start the next chapter in your life.
Among our members, you will discover new friends that have served in all branches of the military and private sector to share in an abundance of activities, hobbies, many groups and abundant wildlife. You will find more choices of activities than you could have ever imagined.
As always, IRCC is a fabulous Country Club community, a great place to retire; there truly is no better location and environment with top notch amenities and service. The camaraderie and caring of this community is what makes us unique.
Come on a GetAway and take a look at the best choice you can make.
