Happy Mother's Day !

(from CRESTSprogram, LLC)

Did you know...?

All people possess genetic material (mitochondrial DNA) that has been passed down from mother to child across generations for roughly 200,000 years. Scientists use mitochondrial DNA to identify the most recent common ancestor of ALL human beings (past, present, and future), and this ancestor has been traced to continent of Africa. This means that Black mothers are the original mothers, and that all human beings represent leaves on branches of common African tree. Today, we celebrate mothers (past, present, and future), with an emphasis on Black mothers -- the original mothers to us all!

Video: Black Mothers Are Worth Celebrating!

We wish all mothers a wonderful Mother's Day...

filled with celebrations, appreciation, pride,

humility, forgiveness, and grace

for all that you have done as mothers

(and for what you experienced as children).

Mothering is a learning and growing process... ideally, full of more wins than losses.

The goal is to celebrate the wins,

and to learn (and heal) from the losses.

You don't have to perfect to be an amazing MOM!
