Today's Gospel

Mt 7:7-12

Jesus said to his disciples:

“Ask and it will be given to you;

seek and you will find;

knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;

and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Which one of you would hand his son a stone

when he asked for a loaf of bread,

or a snake when he asked for a fish?

If you then, who are wicked,

know how to give good gifts to your children,

how much more will your heavenly Father give good things

to those who ask him.

“Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.

This is the law and the prophets.”

Today's Reflection

Today's reflection comes from,

Corey Garbutt 8th Grade Class –

St. John the Evangelist, Fenton

In this Gospel passage we are reminded how God always provides and continues to love us. He will always open the door for us. It shows us that being kind to others will help us grow closer to God, which is especially important during this season of Lent. As we go through our daily lives, help us be the light in others lives, help us treat others as we would like to be treated. Thanks to the  free will God gave us, we are able to make our own choices and he is telling us the importance of making the right ones. Whether it is at home, at school or on the field; God wants us to live our lives and wants us to be the light for others.

Lord, we pray to you that we may be the light and follow you humbly. Help us open the doors for others and show them the way of the Lord.
