Looking for a way to give back? This month, on Tuesday, July 30, NKCPL partners with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive at the Library. This event will take place in the large Meeting Room on the building's lower level from 10 am-2 pm, and donors are encouraged to register in advance. July donors will receive a ticket to Worlds of Fun, courtesy of the American Red Cross, while supplies last!

Weekly Storytimes

Looking for a low-key learning outing? Join us for Storytime! These sessions include read-aloud stories, songs/movement, and a super-simple craft. If you want, plan to stay after the Wednesday Storytime session for some Stay-and-Play time with LEGOs and DUPLOs. Storytimes are geared toward pre-k kiddos, but children of all ages are welcome. No registration required!


Pokémon Card Trading/Playing

First Mondays from 5:30-8:30 pm, starting in November

Drop in for some Pokémon fun on the first Mondays of each month! This event is all about informal card-trading and game playing, so you can stop in anytime between 5:30 and 8:30 pm on these evenings. Classes and programs for adults

Join us for a conversation in August about disaster preparedness, and learn how to prepare for emergencies, including severe weather, dangerous temperatures, flooding, and fires.


This talk, brought to you by AmeriCorps, will last about an hour and a half, and is geared toward adults 55 and up. Feel free to bring any questions about how to make your home more safe--and how to navigate an emergency, should one arise! To receive a week-of reminder, register here.

Are you a gardener or homesteading enthusiast who wants to level up your fertilizer game? Join us for an overview of the composting process with gardener Myriam Totta! You'll learn about some different methods, and leave with the info to start your composting journey! (Myriam will also be here on Mon, July 29, to talk about prepping your garden for the fall.
