happy holidays

'TIS THE SEASON

We want to thank you for an amazing year. We at Legacy Home & Estate Services, which encompases Legacy Home Realtors and Legacy Louisville, wish you and yours a Happy Holiday!

Since we were established in 2018, we have endeavored to keep improving. We couldn't do it without you all. Our mission in 2022 is to keep doing what we love, which is performing a unique service for those who find themselves in charge of an estate, downsizing or who need help with their property. We really enjoy what we do.

We will have a new batch of auctions in 2022, but until then, take a moment to get to know our team a bit better...

Kim Smith was our newest Legacy Home Realtor in 2021 after working for a year with us on the estate side of the business. Kim, went to Mercy Academy and graduated from Indiana University with a focus on art. The majority of Kim's career has been in sales until she transitioned into our business.

She has been married to Chris Smith for 19 years. They have 3 amazing kids: Avery, Nora, and Liam. She is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish and is the Mercy Academy Volleyball Coach and a lifelong Louisvillian.

Joe Casey is one of our newest team members. Joe is our Swiss Army Knife, good at just about everything. He is focused on estate auctions and home updates. Joe met David Wilson during their time at Charter Communication and they maintained their friendship for 15 years and were reunited at Legacy.

Joe previously owned Koko FitClub of Louisville. He owned 2 franchises, and that entrepreneurial spirit has been an asset as he moves to this new adventure. He is married to Rhonda Casey and they have an 11 year old daughter, Caitlyn. Joe is a University of Louisville graduate with a BS in Business Administration.

Stephanie started working with Legacy Home and Estate Services in November 2018. She worked part-time until the summer of 2021 when she began working full time as a project manager for Legacy. Stephanie’s favorite part of the estate process is researching items found in the homes and doing home updates. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing activities outdoors and occasionally binge-watching tv shows with her cat, “Batman”.

Stephanie is from the Chicago Suburbs and moved to Louisville in 2017. She studied at Saint Louis University and earned a Bachelor in Exercise Science and a Master of Athletic Training. She is a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer with KORT Physical Therapy and is currently the athletic trainer for the Mercy Academy Jaguars. Stephanie loves working in high school athletics and providing sports medicine for all the athletes.

Dara and Jolene Cross have been working with Legacy Louisville since we started. They are both retired and help part time with the team. Dara is an award-winning photographer and helps the Legacy staff photographing the items, especially with the most recent Jewelry auction. They both donate their time for all the charity auctions we host on Legacy.

Jolene helps us with lotting and organizing the items. She helps keep everything in order. They have 2 grown kids and 2 grandchildren. They also have Ruby, their Veshla dog, who is such a good girl.

Legacy Co-Owners

Steve and Dave have been friends since Dave moved to Louisville from Boston in 2002. They have been together through many of life's journeys including marriage, kids, work, health issues, family...all the highs and lows. They worked together at Red Bull and later at Everything But The House. They had a passion for helping others, so with Steve having his Real Estate license and Dave having his Auctioneers license, it was a perfect match for creating the services we provide to the Kentucky region. Two amazing friends working to solve a problem.

Stephen Couch is originally from Louisville. He started his career at Enterprise Rent-A-Car after graduating from the University of Louisville. He achieved the role of Manager at Enterprise. He then spent the bulk of his career in Medical Sales. Steve worked part-time at Red Bull for fun. Then he joined the EBTH team as General Manager for Louisville. He worked for years as a Realtor and has since earned his Brokers License for Legacy Home Realtors.

Steve was involved in a terrible accident about a decade ago when he fell 180 feet while repelling in Red River Gorge. He landed on rock and somehow survived. Steve, always one of the most positive people you could know, made a miraculous recovery that changed his life.

Steve is married to the love of his life, Mira Couch. They are raising 3 wonderful kids in Edison, Quinn and baby Palmer. They live in the Crestwood area. Steve has developed the Legacy Home Realtors website in 2021 to be more functional for home searches. 2022 will bring even more functionality to go along with his work on Legacy Louisville.

David Wilson is from Marshfield, MA. In 2021, he was named a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Andy Beshear, probably one of the first Bostonians to earn the honor. Dave moved to Kentucky in 2002. He's a graduate of Ithaca College and the current Board President of Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce. He's joining the board at the Coalition for the Homeless of Louisville in 2022.

In Dave's career, he worked as the Commercial Director for Charter Communications. After that, he became the Director of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in New Albany and Memphis. Then, he was the Sr. VP of Operations for EBTH. He loved his experience at EBTH so much that he didn't want to leave the industry. His partnership with Steve allowed them to provide a full estate offering unmatched in the industry. It's a passion they both have for helping people. Dave also has his Auctioneer's License. From start to finish, the Legacy team can help everyone.

Dave has been married since 2008 to his amazing and supportive wife, Kristen "Midge" Wilson. They have 2 kids, Adele and Emmett and no pets. They live in Graymoor-Devondale.

Special Thank you

We couldn't do all of this without our family and friends around the world. Special thanks to Terri Tomaino, for her editorial work. Thank you to our wives for their support when we decided to not take any income for a few years while developing this company we love. Thank you to everyone who helps make our service offerings better. You know who you are...

Merry Christmas from the Legacy Team!
