As the year wraps up and everyone prepares for the holiday break, we want to send a huge thank you to our members and partners who have made this year a success!
We've had an amazing year! Here are a few highlights:
- We released the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Toolkit for Consultants to Grantmakers. The Toolkit is a compilation of must-have DEI resources and focuses on guiding consultants and their philanthropy clients through the complexities of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The toolkit was featured in recent communications by field leaders such as United Philanthropy Forum, Council on Foundations, and others.
- We hosted our signature webinar series with field leaders on topics that ranged from supporting the systems change efforts of philanthropy clients to managing family dynamics in philanthropy. For a sneak peek at next year's line-up, go to the events page on our website. In 2020, for example, we will feature webinars with Kathleen Enright, president of the Council on Foundations, and Carol Larson, the outgoing president of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, as well as other philanthropy leaders and consultants across the sector.
- NNCG continued to collaborate with our core partners, including Southeastern Council of Foundations (see below), Exponent Philanthropy, Philanthropy New York, Alliance for Nonprofit Management, and others to provide benefits and professional development opportunities to our members and the field. These often included joint membership, co-sponsored programs and activities, and/or discounts on publications and conferences. Spotlight: Our Partnership with Southeastern Council of Foundations (SECF)
In addition to co-hosting two webinars with SECF in 2019, we worked with SECF to develop a conference session on diversity, equity, and inclusion in philanthropy consulting for its annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
We had a wonderful session! We discussed how grantmakers can leverage consultant expertise to tackle equity, power, and accountability as they work to be responsive to the needs of their grantees and the communities they serve. The session featured Marion Johnson of Frontline Solutions and Kien Lee of Community Science and was facilitated by Lisa McGill of LM Strategies Consulting.

We are very excited about our new webinar series coming in 2020! Here is a little sneak peek:
- Carol Larson, outgoing president and CEO of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, will reflect on the investments of the foundation, balancing global and local grantmaking, and what's ahead for philanthropy.
- Kathleen Enright, president and CEO of the Council of Foundations, will discuss on her time with COF and what's next for them in the philanthropic ecosystem.
- Ami Nagle, founder of Nagle and Associates, will discuss what it takes to manage funders' networks, skill sets that consultants should have, and what's on the horizon for funders' networks.
- Benjamin Bellegy, executive director of Worldwide Initiative of Grantmaker Support (WINGS), will discuss global trends in philanthropy and how consultants fit within the philanthropy ecosystem.
- Marcia Coné, author of Permission Granted, will discuss the relevance and response of Equitable Evaluation.
- Kris Putnam-Walkerly, founder of Putnam Consulting Group, will explore the concept of Delusional Altruism and how consultants can help clients get beyond it.

In 2016, we launched the NNCG foundation membership category to better support our emerging work across our members, fellow philanthropy consultants, philanthropy-serving organizations, and foundations in our networks.
