The Volunteer Voice
Holiday E-Newsletter

Dear Friends,
As 2019 comes to a close, we would like to wish you a healthy, happy and safe holiday season. Thank you for your support, volunteerism and partnership that help us help those in our community that are in dire need of health, hope and healing. We are excited for 2020 to implement additional programs to ensure our working, low income neighbors have the services they need to stay out of poverty and provide for their families. The formula is simple; one person helping another person. Thank you for understanding the VIM mission. Cheers to a joyful holiday and a wonderful New Year!

Warm Wishes,
Frances, Kelly, Darcie, Kimmy, April and Chris

Mission Nutrition
The 2020 members of Leadership Wilkes Barre has chosen Volunteers in Medicine for a service project that they are calling “Mission Nutrition” . A fundraiser will be held on Thursday, February 27th from 6-10 pm at the River Street Jazz Café and will be open to friends, supporters and volunteers of VIM. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward purchasing a commercial refrigeration unit and shelving to provide larger quantities of nutritious food to our patients as an expansion of the food insecurity portion of the Health Equity Program . Currently, VIM receives fresh produce and non-perishable food items once a week to our families. Mission Nutrition will allow more foods such as milk, eggs, and meat to be distributed to patients. More information for this event to follow. Please mark your calendars! Call April at 570-970-2864 with any questions.
Purchase A Paver Form
February of 2020 will be the 100 Year Anniversary of the original Lee’s Garage that now houses Volunteers in Medicine. Don’t miss your chance to etch your name in history! Purchase a paver that will be installed in the Spring around the border of the new parking lot.
