Partner News
A recent 60 Minutes segment featured KHC friend and past conference speaker Elizabeth Mitchell, CEO for the Pacific Business Group on Health, who talked about The High Price of Healing. The segment focused on the landmark Sutter Health antitrust lawsuit that was settled recently with Sutter to return $575 million in excess charges to self-funded purchasers in California. The settlement includes injunctive relief terms that have major implications for the health care market in California and nationally, setting requirements for cost transparency, caps on hospital chargemaster increases, and limiting health systems' monopolistic efforts to obtain all-or-nothing contracts.
