Polo and Trunk and Treat
We’re bringing back one of E.W. Marland’s favorite sports with a 101 Wild West Rodeo twist! Get ready for cowboy polo!
Skilled polo players and game cowboys alike will match their skills in a tournament style competition for trophy buckles and bragging rights Halloween afternoon, October 31st, at the 101 Wild West Rodeo Arena on Ash and Prospect. Proceeds will benefit the 101 Wild West Rodeo Queen and Princess competition next spring! Tickets can be purchased for $5 at the gate or online from the 101 Wild West Rodeo website. Team introductions start at 12:30pm with the first match kicking off at 1pm!
Following the cowboy polo tournament, the 101 Wild West Rodeo Committee is hosting a community-wide Trunk-or-Treat at 5pm! This event will be outdoors and open to the public, so grab the kids and come on down! If you or your business are interested in hosting a booth/trunk, please contact Lauren Meador 580-716-3144 or Tammie Coleman 580-401-0743. Looking for 20-40 businesses or individuals who would like to have an area! Individuals and businesses will need to provide their own candy.
Heather Cannon Honda
For the last few years, we have had a costume contest before the kids went trick or treating on Halloween. With goblins on grand cancelled due to covid, Heather Cannon Honda has come up with a great idea. We would like to facilitate a drive thru trick or treating on Thursday, October 29th from 5 - 7 p.m. We would have the lot set up and limit it to 20 businesses. We would encourage each business to decorate their vehicle trunk and have baggies to hand the kids as they drive by. We know this is not as fun as the downtown activities, but it will give the youth of Ponca City a chance to see that the businesses of Ponca City still care about them and want them to have some kind or normalcy in this unique situation. Please email me Greg.grubbs@cannonhonda.com if you want to participate. Again, we are only taking 20 businesses. Thank you for your consideration.
School Supplies
Staples is once again selling and collecting $5 donation bags for school supplies. These bags will contain pocket folders, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, and a 2oz bottle of hand sanitizer. We will be selling them until December 12th. Please stop by and purchase one. They will then get them delivered to the Chamber and we will get them to the school.
