HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
from
ASSEMBLYMEMBER RODNEYSE BICHOTTE HERMELYN
The idea of Father’s Day was conceived by Sonora Smart-Dodd, who realized the importance of having a father or a father figure in your life. She wanted to acknowledge and celebrate fathers for their support. Her father was a Civil War Veteran, who raised her and her five siblings after their mother died during childbirth.” [1]

Father’s provide us with love, guidance, and support like no other. Their wisdom often guide us through life’s challenges and shape us to become the people we are today.

Father’s Day is a day to celebrate not only fathers but also father figures and mentors. Don't forget to let your father or mentor know how special and important they are to you.

Happy Father's Day!
