In early August, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Sister Kathryn Cliatt, one of four founders of The Place.
Because of her compassion and unwavering dedication to helping those in need, thousands of lives have been changed over the past half century. A beautiful tribute was published in the Forsyth County News last month and we hope you will take a moment to read and reflect on the selfless life led by Sister Kathryn.
On Friday, Sept 15, The Place was awarded the Georgia Mountain Food Bank AGENCY of THE YEAR AWARD during their Annual Empty Bowl Luncheon. The annual award is given to a partner agency that goes above and beyond for its clients.
INAUGURAL FINANCIAL LITERACY CLASS FUNDED BY WELLS FARGO
Wells Fargo Foundation granted The Place as it's 2023 Charity Partner in support of our new Financial Literacy program. The financial literacy program is a 4-class series and will be offered several times throughout the year. For more information, contact tara@theplacega.org
BACKPACK DRIVE A SUCCESS
This year's Backpack Drive was a huge success! We were able to provide 823 backpacks to students in Forsyth and Dawson Counties. A special thanks to our partners, Perimeter Church for collecting and packing over 500 backpacks!
