Happy Earth Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying their snowy Earth Day weekend and looking forward to sunny warmer days ahead!

I just returned from a short meditative retreat in Costa Rica which was so rejuvenating from being in nature the whole time.

Our group was surrounded by the rich, oxygen producing, green flora of the rainforest, the sounds crashing waves from Pacific Ocean, scarlet macaws, and toucans.

I am grateful for this deep, primal reconnection to Gaia and I hope all of you can find time to reconnect to these healing energies locally or internationally, above water, or below.

I especially encourage everyone who has not explored coral reefs by snorkeling or diving to do so soon. Our reefs may disappear in a decade, so please appreciate their beauty before it is too late. Watch "Chasing Coral" on Netflix to learn more on this. I've been diving for 44 years now and have been blessed to dive reefs around the world including the great barrier reef which is now mostly gone.

While I feel reversing climate change may be futile, I'm not giving up on doing everything I can to do personally. It's about slowing it for my children, future grandchildren, and all the younger people in the world. I can't leave this planet feeling like I didn't do all I could to help save it.

Unfortunately, most of society seems incapable of seeing the long-term vision of creating planetary sustainability, and is focused on the short term gain for self. We will absolutely go the way of the dinosaurs if we don't wake up soon and protect the "mother ship".

So do what you can personally, and elect those who are supportive or renewable energies, and for reducing carbon-based fuel consumption. Below are some practice updates and other fun announcements!

Wishing you the best in personal and planetary health!

Artificial Intelligence and health promotion-

The growth of artificial intelligence (Chat gbt, etc) offers opportunities for improved patient education compared to google searches. I've been test driving it for a few months now and have found its accuracy to be high, and its ability to synthesize data into a one-page summary very impressive. I encourage everyone to try it. Here is one is an example from Q to Chat GPT:

What is the best way to reverse coronary artery plaque?

The best way to reverse coronary artery plaque is through lifestyle changes, including a healthy diet, regular exercise, not smoking, and controlling other risk factors such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Lifestyle changes can help prevent the progression of coronary artery disease and promote the regression of plaque.

A heart-healthy diet that is low in saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, and added sugars and rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help reduce plaque buildup in the arteries. Regular exercise, such as 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity on most days of the week, can also improve cardiovascular health and help reduce plaque.

Additionally, medications such as statins, blood pressure-lowering drugs, and aspirin can help slow the progression of plaque and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks.

In some cases, more invasive procedures such as angioplasty and stenting or coronary artery bypass surgery may be necessary to treat advanced coronary artery disease. However, lifestyle changes and medications are typically the first-line approach to managing coronary artery disease and reducing plaque buildup in the arteries.

-While it may not include all interventions, it gets at least 90% in there, and one can ask follow-up Q's to expand the answer. This platform passed the medical and bar exams with flying colors btw.

A great new read-

Check out Peter Attia MD "Outlive" book. He discusses many of the approaches I deploy for prevention, longevity at RevolutionaryMD.

Post Covid inflammation can be treated with our high dose IV glutathione, NAD+ and is important to consider soon after resolution of Covid to help reduce risk of long covid syndrome. Grail/Galleri early cancer detection gene test-

We are now offering the Galleri test to help detect signals of 21 common cancers. This is not a perfect test, but can offer a reasonable opportunity for early detection via a simple blood test. This does not replace traditional screening such as colonoscopy, mammo or prostate cancer screen, but can complement it. It costs $949 via lab, but this is actually reasonable given the number of tests performed. Read more here. More info on the specifics of test.

Hopefully most of you know by now that Colorectal cancer screening is now recommended to start at 45 and not 50, please let us know if you need a referral to be screened. See current guideline here.

Cleerly Heart Scanning- For those over 50 or who are at an elevated risk for heart disease may want to consider the CT angiogram with AI evaluation Cleerly heart scan. It offers both a calcium score analysis as well as a view of whether you have narrowing of a coronary artery and if you have stable hard plaque vs unstable soft plaque. Here is a sample reportWe also now have the Prevencio heart screening blood test which can be done as initial screen along with cholesterol testing to determine if you are higher risk and could benefit from a Cleerly scan. Or it can be done during the same month to review with Dr. G for a comprehensive picture.
