The earliest document that shows the Church's celebration of Mary's birth is a hymn written by
St. Romanus, who was born in Syria, between 515 to 556. He was ordained a Deacon in Berytus (modern-day Beirut) and later became one of the clergy in Constantinople.
St. Romanus, pray for our brothers and sisters in Beirut.

What saint was so sickly that no one expected him to last through schooling, much less the rigors of religious life – yet he founded two hospitals, a trade school, two kindergartens, and an orphanage? (Click here for the answer and to learn more about this great saint.)

"Thank you, Blessed Lady, for all the favors I receive daily, for the many graces you have prayed for on my behalf, and for all the prayers you’ve answered for my family."

St. Padre Pio told his spiritual children to "Always stay close to this Heavenly Mother, because she is the sea to be crossed to reach the shores of Eternal Splendour.” We at The Miraculous Medal Shrine know how true that is.
Mary, her Miraculous Medal, and the infinite graces God showers through her hands are the solutions to our world's problems. And the more people who know that, the better. As part of our mission at the Shrine, we want to reach as many people as possible.
Unfortunately, like so many others, the events of the past few months have created a crisis for us. Because of COVID-19, we've had to temporarily close our doors and cancel events. As a result, we’re facing a funding shortage that will have dire consequences on the Shrine, on our ability to spread devotion to Mary and her Miraculous Medal, and on the charitable works of the Vincentians to assist the poorest of the poor, who are even more in need than ever.
Generous friends have stepped up to help us through this tough time with a $100,000 Matching Gift Challenge. Any donation you make between now and October 7 will have double the impact if we successfully meet this grant. Please help us keep Mary's mission going by donating today. Every gift helps.
